Grim reading -

For anyone that hasn’t got Twitter. I’ll copy and paste below. Trophies from all the top clubs before and after ENIC comparing with Spurs. Honestly embarrassing. All they are is glorified property developers. #enicout #levyout

Before ENIC

Liverpool - 50 πŸ†
Arsenal - 33 πŸ†
Tottenham - 23 πŸ†
United - 43 πŸ†
Mancity - 12 πŸ†
Chelsea - 12 πŸ†

Under ENIC

Liverpool - 66 πŸ†
Arsenal - 48 πŸ†
Tottenham - 24 πŸ†
United - 66 πŸ†
Mancity - 27 πŸ†
Chelsea - 32πŸ†

1 measily trophy in over 20 years, whilst all the other top 6 are mopping them up. I don’t even include Leicester in this either. Totally unacceptable from the frauds that are ENIC and Levy

It goes way beyond pi** poor spending on transfers and not buying the right players in the right positions. This season being a prime example where we haven’t replaced Bales or Vinicius goals, yet you are still making excuses for that
----------------------------------------------------------------------

ffs don. you cannot be serious. are you actually incapable of looking at a big picture? every time anyone shows you the progress of the club on a wholistic level, you always dig into these micro example of we didnt buy x or y. that just discredits your argument..... are you honestly judging the ownership of the club on the basis that we have not signed a replacement backup striker?

F*** me. Every single time with you. No!!!!!!!!!!!!!

.Super league fiasco
.Highest ticket prices in Europe with nothing on the pitch to show for it
.Pandemic shambles
.No ambition
.Never backed the best manager in a decade
.Lack of strategy and planning
.Sacking a manager before a cup final and replacing with a rookie just to save money in case Mourinho won it - scandalous
.1 league cup in over 21 years
.Manager farce this summer - embarrassing
.Constant false promises and lies to the supporters
.No on field strategy and only care about off field matters
.Lack of communication with own supporters

Do you want me to go on chronic or do you want me to stop ? You put your hand in your ears every time I answer you, so it’s pointless even discussing with you

replace Vinicius' goalsyou mean goal
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Vinicius scored goals in Europe and the cups, meaning the likes of Son and Kane got rested. We have no one, meaning Kane and Son virtually play ever game, which means they are more likely to get injured. Even a Levy and ENIC bum licker like you can’t justify that. Funny how you conveniently didn’t mention Bale though a player who was one of our top scorers and hasn’t been replaced. Don’t let it get in the way of your Levy and ENIC love fest though

Man City also failed to get a back up striker this summer.

Liverpool have no replacement for TAA other than OAP Milner, and no replacement for Salah other than Minamino.

Don makes statements like "if we lose Kane & Son we're fecked" but for most its no different. Take the 2 top scorers from most teams and they're fecked. Look how much Salah has carried LFC this season, and last.

What i think we need is a better adaptable option. None of Son, Lucas or Bergwign are really any good as a striker, so replace one of the latter 2 with a decent wide attacker who can plan up top. I think that is why Martinez was a focus in the summer, scuppered by them selling Lukaku. Now i can totally accept criticism of Spurs not getting that deal done quickly (reportedly it seemed money was agreed, although Martinez apparently wants to stay in Italy) and this has been an issue over the years, negotiating everything to death!

Wow you are literally on another level when it comes to making excuses ain’t you. Mancity and Liverpool have fantastic squads. Brilliant players and don’t desperately need players to strengthen them. Salah gets injured, Frimino comes in and they got Jota, who now scores bucket loads. A new player from last season. Spurs have a 17 year old rookie ffs. These clubs mentioned didn’t handicap themselves by ridding of 2 forwards that scored goals in all competitions and don’t replace them. It’s not the same Devonshire ffs. Stop making excuses.

A lot of these are within the last couple of years, which I have openly admitted are in my opinion the poorest of the ENIC tenure.... albeit in difficult times.

some of your list are valid negatives. some are facts, some are debateable, some are biased, and with some your view is dependent on what you expect from an owner. for example, Levy rarely speaking in public or making statements doesnt bother me much. occasionally it does, but not often.

for all those negatives, you are ignoring the fact that they have organically dragged us from being a club where 10th and an FA cup quarter final was a good season, to a club where anything less than top 4 is disappointing.....

the stadium and the training ground of course need nothing further said about them. pretty much both the best in the world.

the strategy of the club seems clear and its strange that you cannot see it. or maybe you can see it and just dont like it. the strategy is very clearly to maximise revenues through various commercial opportunities, such as NFL etc, and then reinvest this money into the football side of the business.

perhaps some will be to repay the stadium debt.. which in turn frees up cash to.... put money into the football side of the business...

now, I admit there are some times when I want to slap levy's bald head, like haggling over a couple of mill in the market and we lose out on signings that we want / need... but hopefully Paritici now being around mitigates that somewhat.

we will eventually secure a naming rights deal for the stadium, which I expect will be very lucrative, and that is yet more money available to spend on the footballing side of the business.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The approach by Spurs has always been to maximise the financial potential for every part of the club.

So in old WHL we had high prices, it was sold out every week, 25k on the waiting list etc We sold DVDs of memorable games membership was high, to be on the waiting list cost more etc etc.

This "milking" of the fans meant that our revenues were alsways good, for a club of our size. If you compare to the likes of Villa, Leeds, Newcastle, Everton we were always stronger and this maintained. Not only that but it has seen Spurs under ENIC, gradually develop over their tenure and when you compare to the same clubs again, none of them have achieved this. Some have gone up and down the leagues, some like Everton have achieved nothing at all.

Our finances under ENIC have long been the best of the rest and we have over time elevated ourselves to this position in the league. But financially we had hit our ceiling, not much more to exploit to increase revenues while things like player fees and wages continued to soar.

The New Stadium raises that financial ceiling and again we see the exploitation of this asset to the maximum - High seat prices, other events/uses of the stadium, massive corporate areas. The training ground shares the same approach, it is used by other sports, international teams. It has a hotel etc. None of these uses detract in any way from the primary use, but they maximise the asset and the investment put into them

In this respect we are extremely well run. We now generate bigger revenues than Arsenal and Chelsea, and we dont have a sponsor for the stadium like Arsenal do.

We have not reached our ceiling yet - Clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea have. Note that Liverpool are further expanding their ground, Everton seeking a new stadium - to try and push their financial ceilings higher. Chelsea wanted to do the same.

It will take time to benefit from these investments, but it will pay dividends, and i think it would have been more evident if the pandemic had not struck.

The timing of this is regrettable. The tightening of the purse strings came when we were on the crest of a wave. The increased funds and spending (which are undeniable) came too late and now it is a case of building up again. This will not happen over night, it will take a number of windows.

I can get why fans are frustrated, but ultimately their frustration comes from the fact that we have raised expectations, we have raised the level of this club and they want more and better. But people have to employ a dose of realism and be patient.

I also share criticism of some of the decisions made by Levy. They have contributed significantly to setting us back, but like Chronic say, these are not constant. Overall our upward trajectory has been the result of good decisions, punctuated by some bad ones which set us back....but that really does happen at every club.

The stadium has the potential to really push us on. It has only just come on stream but will fund our progress, which will not be instant.

It needs to be aligned with good decision making off the pitch and careful, selective investment, to ensure we can compete better in the future.

People have to accept where we are and look to the future which can be extremely bright indeed as we have built some extraordinary foundations

Don

I was one of the absent 10,000 for the Villa game. I missed the game for personal reasons, nothing to do with how the team was playing.
Cannot speak for the others that missed the match.

Incidentally you say you have wanted ENIC out for 8-9 years, why?
It’s only 2 years ago we were in the CL final, so we were not doing too badly then, we’re we?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We got there by a damned lucky hatrick from one of our players against Ajax, if I remember correctly.
Perhaps you can remember that player's name?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why was Luca’s hat trick lucky?
Nice to see you haven’t lost your negativity TedπŸ˜³πŸ€”
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Also luck that we beat City and Dortmund. All luck.

Funny. If we had coughed up the lead that Ajax did, it would be Spursy bottlers. We instead show amazing belief to turn it around and its consigned as luck. Utterly pathetic!

I watch those highlights now and still go goosebumpy. Others clearly have other feelings about one of our most memorable games in decades.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Goosebumps at the time 100%. Amazing feeling. I was crying, so trust me, I know how the feeling was on that game, but at the end of the day, what did we achieve ? We stunk out that final and didn’t even touch a hair on Liverpool’s head that game. An extremely disappointing end to what was an amazing run in the CL. All that work and to mess up and bottle it in the final. That Lucas moment was amazing, but it will always be remembered for us being nearly winners, rather than actual winners. That is the issue with our club mate. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah...and what did we do in the final?
Sissoko gives them a penalty in the first two minutes!
