Nike Kits

Yesterday was our first PL outing for the new third kit and man that thing is ugly, reminds me of those old Drumstick lollipops we used to have as kids, and while they were delicious, you don't exactly want to be dressed like one.

For the most part our kits under Nike have been hugely disappointing, With the homes ones they seem to alternate between a classic white and blue design one season to something a bit more conceptual the next. I actually quite like the former and find the simpler designs quite elegant and minimalist, but its also true they are pretty basic and templatey and won't exactly live long in the memory. The more experimental home shirts, however, have just been rank. The away kits also have largely been a copy and paste template let down, albeit the purple and blue one from Pochettino's last season has been my favourite shirt under the company and I thought it was a nice homage to some of the purple kits from the 90s. Not sure how many more years we still have to run with the company, but really hoping our next kit deal is with Adidas.

I currently have 32 Spurs away and third shirts - can anyone beat that?

The first season we had Nike kits with the shield were all lovely.

Tbh I’ve liked pretty much all but maybe 2 of the kits they’ve produced

I liked last seasons home kit with the pattern matching the panels on the stadium, I’ve never understood the obsession with the home kit having to be plain, no offence but I’m not spending 80 quid on a plain shirt with a badge and a sponsor on it. My two favourite home kits were last seasons and the one we wore when we first qualified for the CL which I think were by Puma and were similar to Newcastle’s with the shoulder design.

As has been said the away kits are another matter but I’ve always felt it’s been a 50/50 split between good and truly awful. What I have noticed since Nike took over though is kits that on first glance I’ve turned my nose up at end up growing on me when I see them in the flesh. Take the green away kit with the salmon trim from last season. I hated that when I first saw it but up close in the stores it actually was pretty smart.

Does anyone remember the chocolate kit we had, was like gold dust to get hold of when it was released.

The 3rd kit looks ok from a distance but its a mess up close.

Our current 2nd kit is iconic!

Yes, the chocolate and gold return to European competition kit - I’ve got one. It is a hideous kit and the material is like slightly stronger tissue paper. I really don’t rate our Puma kits.

We had some great Under Armour kits, in no particular order:

Navy blue with gold trim
Gold with blue pinstripe
Yellow with Black tyre marks
Black with yellow tyre marks
Purple with silver trim

My personal favourite though is the Black and Grey half and half kit - I love it

I really liked Under Armour too and thought they were pretty underrated. But my favourite kit of recent times was the retro style Puma kit we had for the first season in the CL under Redknapp. That was gorgeous.

Our current home kit is the best home one for a while. I like them as plain and white as possible. I will never buy it though due to the red logo.

The current home kit is the best one we have had under Nike that’s for sure. I really like the textured surface of the shirt. Unlike a lot, if not almost all fans, I don’t actually mind the red shirt sponsor, think it gives the shirts a bit of a pop.

Worst thing about the shirts at the weekend was how it clashed with the Newcastle shirt
