So great win last night.

Great achievement to beat the Spanish champions in the hardest group .

I'm not too worried about last night. We beat a good team. The first goal they scored last night was offside. Good to get a game like this. Will make us more focused on Sunday.

Just don't wear that yellow kit.

Alot of goals conceded have been due to weak tackling by our midfielders imo and something we need to address.

I think its ultimately down to tactics tbh. Its been happening in too many games regardless of who is playing, especially when Fab is missing.

We do seem to be vulnerable when we take the lead. Nit sure why that is but we been pegged back by brentford city and Madrid. Though the last two are very good.

An excellent worrying win if there can ever be one.

IMO (and its going to be very unpopular) Matip needs to be looked at. He's getting beaten up on by big men and its down his sdie that we are a bit weak defensively. Konate should come in for games now IMO to see if he can deal with the aerial issue.

matip is great on the ball but he is having to defend one on one a lot.

VVD is still playing himself back to his flying best. he doesn't look absolutely on it but he still looks amazing


we also miss thiago imo. I think the balance in midfield as been a little suspect in they all want to go on and press up and the door is wide open behind.

Get fabinho in, get Henderson to RCM and get thaigo back in.

ON the conceding goals thing, the midfield doesn't sit in. they all go and push up so even leading and passing it about we will find half the team have gone and one ball over top and we are exposed. If say fabinho would just say to himself to say goal side of the ball all the time and not commit we would not see this as an issue. I do also think however the team tires and vvd certinly tires a bit more than he would have.

But most of all matip in the air is a slight weakness. Toney is a powerful guy and he'd bully most CBS but he destroyed matip. I wuld start being a bit selective with matip and pick him for playing better sides to read runs and pick konate for the big target man sides. Its a great position to be in to have these options!

I agree I think matip has been good. Yesterday it was virgil.that got done for that second goal. I also think konate is still very raw and needs to play cup games to bed in. He is suspect on the ball from what I have seen so far.

Defensively we are not right....balance not quite right and players like TAA and VVD not near the best at all; add in keita was poor as a mf defensively vs Atletico.

Hopefully vvd gets back to his best next few games and fabinho slots back in that would help

When he's doing the read the game job he is brilliant imo. he's a proper defender in that regard. esp compared to joe gomez but for his height he can be beaten up on aerially. I would love to see us start to bring in konate in select games against those sides who will try that on.
