Comfortable win for Celtic at home to St Johnstone while Rangers come back to win at St Mirren. Dundee Utd continue their good form, while Hearts concede late.
The table is unbelievably tight. Celtic are starting to show signs that the results we knew we were capable of getting are starting to come through. Easter Road on Wednesday against a faltering Hibs could see a remarkable turnaround given at the start of October there was a lot of dread at Celtic's fixture schedule for October.
Rangers at home to Aberdeen who finally get a win again so will be hoping to at least challenge at Ibrox.
I missed the first 10 minutes of the Celtic game due to CS Jnr's football (his team haven't had a good October, 1 draw and 3 defeats including getting knocked out of the cup by their main rivals and falling from 2nd to 6th in the league, then I got drenched last night at Toryglen watching him again). I was told that St Johnstone started quite brightly but what I seen for the 80 minutes was St Johnstone looking absolutely clueless and just launching the ball aimlessly to no one. The easiest game Joe Hart has had at Celtic so far. They sat in to make it compact but I always felt we would score, I was just surprised it wasn't 3 or 4. Good to see Giokoumakis get a goal on a first start, he is a different option for us and when we need to field a full strength XI I doubt he starts as I feel Kyogo loses a lot of his game out wide. Mikey Johnston looked fit and fresh when he played and could be a good option if he can stay fit.
I watched the first half of St Mirren v Rangers with a goal of the season contender early on, then St Mirren dominating possession for most of the first 30 minutes but after that they barely touched the ball and by all accounts the second half was pretty much the same story, with St Mirren never in the game. Morelos is popular again after scoring a landmark 7th goal in 35 games or something like that.
And finally,
What about Man Utd? Absolute disaster. Maguire and Shaw were horrendous, as were the midfield. Ole must be looking at the sack. £200M spent but absolutely zero tactical nous to drive the team. He just expects that they will do something.
