Arteta Sacked

https://www.arsenal.com/news/vete-a-la-mierda-mikel-arteta

Should've happened a long while ago.

Getting absolutely pumped by world class sides like Liverpool is fine. But losing to utter cabbage like United and performing with absolutely zero ambition is completely unacceptable.

*some of these stats may not be 100% correct given the sources but they'll be close enough. If you want to manually work everything out please go-ahead

Obviously the results have been poor under Arteta (finished, 8th x 2), that's without question and pretty hard to defend but there are situations where poor results can be somewhat forgiven.

For instance if the club suffered huge amounts of injuries or were going through a revolutionary change in style (at least showing signs of becoming brilliant) - none of this applies to Arteta's Arsenal.
*and no, changing to awful turgid "style" as we're doing does not qualify as acceptable

We somehow sit 5th in the league right now but can anyone say they actually enjoy watching us play any more? The results we do get rarely look convincing. That's with the huge advantage of no European football and having spent more on players than any other club this summer.

There are rumours the club is going to spend big again but this is madness while Arteta is in charge of the side. Hamstringing the poor bloke who eventually takes over and meaning we can't offer him as much of an attractive transfer kitty to rebuild.

Apologies for a fake title, sorry for getting your hopes up.

Arteta is doing great job give him time no need yo panic we are fifth and above that lousy ageing slow team that we almost beat at their turf with our new still inexperienced young team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No chance we're finishing ahead of United or even Spurs now they've got rid of their poor managers.

We need to follow suit to stand any chance

Chequebook Chelsea not even in those top 10 net spenders yet Champions of Europe and top of the league

Just ignoring the Most Expensive Squad table I see.

Fair play you've sold a load of players. But let's not be silly and pretend you haven't bought your way there.

Sold the best player in the league then won the CL two years later. We just operate at a much higher level than most other clubs, not our fault other teams can’t sell well

They sacked their manager due to being awful. We'll probably give ours a contract for life for doing an equally poor job

United are just a better team than Arsenal, better players, better managed. The gap between United and Arsenal will only widen, get used to United supremacy

Utd have been dogs poo since 2013 and will continue to be!

Don't worry, another game at the weekend, a chance for Arsenal's 5th New Dawn of this season!

You're about where you're expected to be, you've got a good but not great squad and you're getting good but not great results.

He's spent a lot of money because he had to do. You can't just spend x amount of money and expect success because other teams like City and Chelsea have, their squads are far above where yours is.

It seems like there is a clear structure to how Arteta wants to play and you look as if you've found an identity in the transfer market as well now, no point tearing that blueprint up just because you've lost to sides that are better than you in recent weeks.

Some fans are just fickle, am happy with our squad and team and hopefully next season we will be more successful and even better, upwards and onwards
