The conundrum for Leeds

Lots of people calling for investment in January, but Bielsa says he has what he needs, always says player will need weeks before ready to play and every man and his dog say Jan is bad time for business.

Add to that the complete uncertainty as to whether or not Bielsa stays this summer and do the club further invest in players that might not be what new head coach wants?

We've got 60 mill worth of p[layers in Rodrigo and James, Tyler Roberts whom everyone now seems to be raving about, Gelhardt whom many insist should be playing....not sure why people think we need to sign for that position.

People rave about Struijk, whom has played in Philips role before, so again, not sure why people feel we suddenly need additional signings.

Not enough goals in the team. People saying our attacking line up is fine? Geldhart has hardly any goals at senior level, Roberts ain't prolific, nor is Rodrigo. Then factor in James who hasn't got 10 goals at this level, Harrison is awful atm and we've lost Klich and Dallas's goals. Take away Raphs contributions this season we'd be bottom. Defence is our only strong point in regards to depth, its very good. Need an 8, 10, Bamford competition and Phillips cover but you won't be getting anyone decent in Jan. A couple of loans might be useful.

Think Bielsa is wonderful, but his small squad ideology is a flaw.

The only signing, should be one that improves the squad even when everyone is fit, not to replace injured players. We do need more depth, our bench usually full of rookies.

Bamford played every game last season, so you could say his absence isn't normal for him, hopefully he comes back and stays fit now. Roberts is way off his quality, I don't know why anyone would rave about him, but he's not exactly played badly either.

In first season with us, remember Bamford was injured a lot and earlier in teh season I'd said maybe we've actually been lucky so far that he';s stayed injury free for a while.

Completely agree re not enough goals. Last season we conceded, but had a confidence that we could score as well, this season that confidence is not the same.

Firstly we don't seem to be creating the chances, but secondly, I don't feel that Rodrigo or Roberts would be putting them away and James, for his price tag, has to contribute more.

Gelhardt is unknown quantity so far, but you recall Alan Smith making impact in first couple of games many years back, that's a bit ask of Gelhardt.

Simple question, are you confident with Gelhardt starting for next 6 games that he's more effective than Rodrigo?

Gelhardt question does my head in, I think people are just making comments based on assumptions not on the guy himself.

He is not a Rodrigo type player, I think Greenwood is closer to Rodrigo in position he plays and style. Play him in the right kind of role and he will be more effective than a Rodrigo that Bielsa is scratching his head about.
He hasn't scored many at senior level, what is that about? to date he has been used sparingly by Bielsa (2 or 3 appearances) he hasn't scored at all, he made 19 appearances for Wigan but he was 17 and is a different kettle of fish now. Give him a run of games and let others get familiar with him and he will score loads. It isn't just about him. He will continue not scoring if we don't play him.
I really don't understand why Bielsa is reluctant to play him, he is more than ready. Pretty sure if it carries on the way it is we will lose him.

What is a Rodrigo type player, he's a striker a number 9, what is Gelhardt then?

I wonder what people thought when Milner was brought on for his first Leeds game!..

If the internet thing had been about then he'd more then likely have had a few doubters as well, Gelhardt is no different to any player, if they're used correctly and given the right support they can be World beaters!..

He's good with the youths, so maybe its time to let him step up and have a proper go!..

Read on here a couple of times something about Ayling needing an operation. He has only just had one so not sure where this rumor is coming from. He tweaked his knee, had an op, has done the rehab and come through 45 minutes with the U23s and 90 minutes with the seniors?
