Surely they have a rule for this kind of thing.

Although I am pretty certain there is a rule that says if a club has 13 outfield players and a keeper available then they should fulfill the fixture - and Spurs would have had that.

Yes that’s a rule

I saw something about UEFA are doing an investigation into whether we had that available ….which we must have done

I reckon when they find out we did we will probably be fined and match goes to Rennes 3 nil

Let’s hope they don’t impose any European ban on us as we haven’t followed the rules

I know some folks are happy about going out and I take the points about the squad being shat but let’s not get too happy until UEFA decide what to do with us

We have come out of this very badly and look like we think we are bigger than we are

The final sentence here is completely wrong. We did absolutely the correct thing.

If the game had gone ahead it would have put further players and staff at risk of contracting the virus sweeping through our club, not to mention putting Rennes at risk as well. Spurs did absolutely the right thing in valuing the well-being of human beings above playing a poxy fixture in a nonsense completion. I’m proud the club took the decision they did, and the statement from Rennes was appalling and ignorant.

We’re still in the midst of a global pandemic. Worth remembering sometimes.

My statements and reasoning are only based on the rules we signed up to

Covid plays its part here for sure and I’m not downplaying it all

Im just mealy stating the rules state (and this includes covid) that if 13 players and keeper are available you play

We definitely had that ….so we broke the rules and no one knows what sanctions uefa will put on us

Morally we were spot on (apart from not telling Rennes to not get on a plane !) but I’m not talking about morals just the rules

French frogs love a good moan. Rennes already qualified. Just shows their complete disregard and disrespect for human lives. Fack them.

I think we are less likely to kick up a stink than the Dutch as the lack of European games will make it easier to play catch up in the Prem.

We couldn't fulfill the fixture so 0-3 I reckon. It's unfair but I won't be crying in my beer about getting out of a poor competition and concentrating on domestic affairs.

I for one, would be glad if we didn’t have to play in this ridiculous tournament...

For me, it was all about playing the fringe/squad players...

The fringe/squad players have proved that they arent good enough, so we would have to resort to playing the 1st team, if we wanted to progress..

I find this infuriating... we all know who needs to leave the club.... thus creating space for new loanees or signings, hopefully...

In a perverse way... this conference cup as done us a bit of a favour... as Conte will now know who is surplus to requirements! LOL

Let’s now concentrate on a high league position & the domestic cups...

Well maybe if he took the competition seriously at the outset, and didn't play the reserves, we would have sewn up the group ages ago. Even with our average form our first team are still much better than than anyone else in that group. We are currently ranked 13th in Europe co efficient tables ffs.
He really can't moan now if we get booted out by Uefa.

Does Levy really select the team then?

What’s he paying a manager for? Waste of money that you can ill afford at the moment.
