Got to hand it to Spurs, they've outdone themselves this time. Going into the Wolves and Saints games we were looking good. Conte had been here 3 months, the players seemed to be understanding his methods. Was a great opportunity to get 6 points and take command of the top 4 race.
4 days later we've been comprehensively outplayed by two midtable teams at home and the season feels like it's over.
Imo Conte has to take a lot of the blame. If Jose/Nuno had two back to back performances and losses like that we'd be calling for their head. Tactically we looked all over the place, with our weakest players getting exposed in this 343.
Conte is obviously an elite coach, but he's also used to working with top players. It's fine having a 2 man midfield when it's Kante and prime Matic. It's not when one or both is Winks and Hoijberg. I wonder if he regrets not trying harder with Lo Celso and Ndombele. Both players are capable of keeping the ball under pressure. They could not have been any worse than Hoijberg and Winks.
I'm sure we'll be better next season with a full pre season and a couple more Juve cast offs, but realistically we're never going to invest enough or invest well enough to get anywhere near challenging for anything. Just a matter of time before he walks IMO.
All hope extinguished in 4 days

Sanchez is completely shot of all confidence
That stumble and pass to their player outside the area yesterday summed it all up
I genuinely think I could do a better job just by standing still
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not good enough though to be shot of all confidence when prior to the last 2 games he's been pretty good this season, for him at least.
It's unacceptable to just be able to switch on calamity like that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Completely agree
Which is why he will never be good enough as he doesn’t have the consistency
Rodon will be thrown to the wolves now against city and will his confidence torn to pieces too
Dier has his faults but at least he comes across as mentally tough
Romero Dier and Rodon against city I hope
Dier left side centre back
I can’t see us line up with Davies and Sanchez again
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Any chance you could get a result? Thanks in advance
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Zero chance I’m afraid
We have to be the best we have been in ages
City have to have a shocker
We need half their squad injured
We need 2/3 red cards in our favour
We may get a point then though….
----------------------------------------------------------------------
thats not zero chance then

Good players win trophies, not managers.

Levy thinks the opposite, which is why we are so shiete. He would rather spend money on a proven coach than proven players.

Diaz was always going to Varpool, the agent just used us to get him the move in January rather than the summer. The only chance we signed him was if Varpool were not interested, but they were desperate for a Salah replacement, so decided to bring him early or risk him coming to us. And in any case he may well flop, there are no guarantees he will be success, he could turn out to be Pepe mk2, I would much rather sign players who are PL proven.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree that we were always interested in Diaz but we wanted him for the summer and your interest forced us to get him now. On him being a Salah replacement, he plays the opposite side so he’s more Mane’s replacement than Salah.
Fully agree with Don above as well, it was baffling that Spurs didn’t Back Poch after the CL final.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What’s the story with Mane ?
Has he had a fallout with Klopp ?

if Son is on it like he can be vs City you never know regarding a score draw.
the players owe us as much you would have thought

I feel like our luck must run out against City at some point

if Conte walks any earlier than after the summer transfer window then he is just a massive caaant.
if we have a poor window and then he walks, then levy is the massive caaant.

Spurs usually lose at City. It is only at home that Spurs seem unbeatable against City.
