Favouring the big clubs with 5 subs

From a Chelsea perspective this is good news, but I think it hugely disadvantages the smaller PL clubs such as Norwich and Spurs.

More diversity as well as quality and that gives them much more tactical scope. Smaller teams can usually only play one way
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That's not true. Smaller teams can play as many ways as they want to play. Also, the vast majority of big teams only play one way. Klopps team play a gegenpressing game. They rarely deviate from this because they have spent so long training to do this system that changing to something different would be alien to them and they wouldn't be as effective.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We disagree this will be an issue that will cause many to do so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Hasn't been an issue in the other European leagues, where smaller teams seem to have made more subs on average than the bigger teams. Or where dominant teams failed to win the league in Italy, France, and Spain for the first time in years.

You have created an issue that doesn't seem to have any factual basis.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I its an opinion, not an issue. And you have no evidence of substance to support your opposing opinion.

Except for the evidence that smaller teams are more likely than bigger teams to make more subs, based on the bundesliga.

Also, you are the one making the claim that it benefits the bigger teams. Burden of proof is on you.

Bundesliga is still dominated by two teams. O don't see any evidence that the bigger teams are suffering. Time will tell in the EPLwhat effect this rule will have. I have my view and you have yours.

Burden of proof?? I am making a prediction as are you. The future will be the proof.

Yes, so the bundesliga hasn't seen any real difference from this change in terms of league position. You would think the big teams would make use of this change that benefits them by making more subs on average than the bottom teams. I wonder why they haven't.

What will we see, though? "Big teams" beat "small teams" all the time now. How is this going to be quantified? Man City and Liverpool are hitting close to, or more, 100 every season.

Well fair point. Will we see many thrashing on Chelsea by Brentford though? In fairness Chelsea could have had 10 subs, it would have made no difference today

I do think in other games it will though.

You could argue that todays result shows what is more likely to happen more often.
Tuchel rested a few after international duty and came unstuck. By the time he brought on James, Kovacic and Lukaku the momentum was all Brentfords and subs made no difference.
With 5 subs, teams in Europe especially, will more likely rotate more often with the option to bring in 5. But that means the starting XI will be weakened, giving the "smaller team" more chance to get into the game.
