Free PS+ games for May

Haven't bought a FIFA game since FIFA 2004, might give this FIFA game a go

Similar situation for me. Can't remember the last one I bought but am old enough to have purchased the first ever Fifa on the day of release. I am definitely a Pro Evolution man though but will download this Fifa and give it a free hit. My teenage son is always playing it but I've always thought that it's a cash cow. Appears to be the reason they are giving this one out for free as I think its probably a way of getting new players to continue buying cards etc. It will just be the career mode for me anyway

Unfortunenyley a bit of a Dire situation for football fans these days as both games are generally trash. Just deleted eFootball again, which makes me so so sad but it is quite frankly the worst the series as been in since I think 2006 which was also very painful. FIFA isn't as bad, but never feels like football to me - as you said, more an EA cash cow that's pumped out each year but obviously doesn't have anyone who knows anything about football working on it. Lets hope UFL can do something as I really really want a football I can enjoy.

Absolutely shocking. I’d given up all hope on EA years ago, but that game really is the ultimate indictment of how far they’ve fallen in the past decade or so. Disgusting company with dogsh*t games. Glad that FIFA are selling the rights elsewhere, going forwards, but some other trash study like Ubisoft will probably pick it up

What do you mean?
They're still going to create the game, it just won't be called FIFA.
There will still be a corrupt ultimate team mode etc etc.
It'll just be called EA ultimate team and they'll probably lose naming rights to other things I guess like clubs and stadiums etc.

Hopefully with EA losing the naming rights, some other company can come up with a gem of a football game, or PES can somehow return to its former glory of over a decade ago.

They went stale years ago. If you look at other game genre's the advancement in most is night and day.

But especially with football the actual physics and gameplay hasnt improved at the same rate that other genres have.

No idea if this is (on EA part) laziness and cash grab (well we all know thats it) or on Konami part is it due to finances, they cant afford to sink any more money into the game cos it doesnt sell as well as it used to?

I was always a PES man and sporadically I get one of the new ones and always got hit with the same meh feeling.

Maye this licence situation improves things, maybe another developer comes out the blue? As things stand I dont have high hopes in the near future

Well that was quick, downloaded FIFA and have subsequently deleted it. How can AI actually be worse than it was in the past. The mind boggles with what these people do, can only assume they don't have any actual football players or experts in the team as the game doesn't act like football one bit. Like players actively watch the ball and do nothing, you hit the close down button and the players stand off.......I tried, a couple of hours in and dumb AI and honestly I have more enjoyable things to play - if I wanted an arcade football game I would chose one of those this is just straight up trash and I feel sorry for anyone who likes football and has been relegated to play this sheet.

Haha I was coming on to say a similar thing. Thought I'd give it a go with it being free but good god it's absolutely HORRIBLE. Haven't played it since Fifa 18 - and that was bad - but this is possibly the worst football game I've played since I had an Amiga 500.

Anyone thinking about giving it a go...save yourself some time and don't bother. Absolute sh-te.
