Seen for 50% what he was on.

I just think on that list the Option that would come and won’t be a waste of big wages is Wallace. Come for cheap and be reliable. He’s a decent player. But obviously wouldn’t want him starting many would you.

Johnston would be one id be interested in signing.

Think he is more than capable of pushing meslier who as things stand pretty much has no competition at the club to try and keep the pressure on him.

Kiko will be be returning and unfortunately still has a year to run on his deal so unless we can get lucky there he is going to still be here.

I've always been a fan of the three keeper system of a solid number 1, a strong number 2 to challenge and push them and them a veteran third choice keeper, someone with loads of experience who is there to help develop your 1 and 2 but is still good enough that if push comes to shove and you have a massive injury crisis he is more than capable of stepping in.

Kiko isint good enough to be a number 2 or even number three for us and as things stand id rather bring in Johnston and at least know that we have good solid cover for meslier.

Think we missed out not trying to go for swift.

Brom get him on a three year deal while we are left witha bunch of 30 something crocked players.

Think he could have really offered us some depth to our midfield area

Johnstone off to Crystal Palace. Starting to think Orta
and the club are happy to go again with Meslier as the #1. And maybe they don't sense any urgency for a
solid, veteran back-up? Not a good strategy.

I always have that feeling with Palace's recruitment with historically players like Olise, Eze, Gallagher and now Johnstone they make smart signings that add something and make sense and is a good way to go. I always get that sense we are chasing more exotic names on the continent when sometimes a more straight forward foray into the best of the championship would be just as effective. I appreciate we were after Gallagher but our deals seem to be more complex, risky and drawn out. Early days of course and we'll see how things pan out for the summer ahead.

Always worry about the word free transfer. Usually end up with higher wages and huge sign on so by the end of it they are far from free
