International Football

We should be less than 2 weeks away from World Cup 2022, sadly we have to wait until November for that shiiit show.

Instead, we have a bumper set of Nations League fixtures plus the delayed WCQPO.

Wednesday sees Scotland host Ukraine in the play-off semi final. Scotland have not qualified for a World Cup since 98, so this is a massive opportunity for them. Ukraine is obviously going through terrible attacks from Russia, so for them this is more than just a chance to go to a World Cup but also a chance to bring hope and joy to the people back home.
The winners face Wales on Sunday in the final.

The 3rd edition of the Nations League also starts on Wednesday. Most nations have 4 games in 2 weeks, with the league stage being completed in September.
As well as the chance to win the Nations League, plus relegation and promotion on offer, this competition offers second chances to qualify for Euro 24. Unlike 2020, only 3 places are on offer.

England face old enemies Germany and Euro2020 conquerors Italy in between 2 games with Hungary.

Wales have a tough schedule. Wednesday they face Poland in the Nations League, before that massive WCQ on Sunday. Then it is Wednesday, Saturday, Tuesday against the Dutch, Belgium and the Dutch again.

Scotland, in League B, play Armenia twice in June, while their 3rd is a Gaelic derby against Republic of Ireland in Dublin on the 11th.
The Irish play Ukraine twice and Armenia once in this period.

Northern Ireland were relegated to League C and have Greece, Kosovo and Cyprus in their group. They play the Cypriots twice, and the others once each.

Other big ties upcoming include a repeat of the 2018 World Cup final as Croatia host France next Monday. Spain and Portugal meet on Thursday, while Italy and Germany face off on the 4th and 14th of June. Belgium and the Netherlands meet on Friday.

We also have the relaunched FINALISSIMA between the Euro champs and the Copa America champs. Italy and Argentina meet on Wednesday at Wembley in what should be a game of great intensity, desire and skill.

Outside of Europe Australia face the United Arab Emirates next Tuesday in Qatar for a place in the inter continental play offs. It is a one legged tie.
The winners face Peru on the 13th of June, while Costa Rica and New Zealand play-off in the other tie on the 14th. Both games are one offs, played in Qatar, with the winners booking their place back in Qatar for the 2022 World Cup in November.

The UEFA WCQPO will be shown on Sky Sports
All England games are on Channel 4.
Wales Nations League fixtures will be shown on S4C as well as the Premier Sports network.
All other Nations League ties will be on the Premier Sports network.
As of yet there is no UK coverage of the intercontinental play-offs.

This is just basically a rip off of my article

I don't read your articles, but not sure which one it is a rip off of? You have titles of "Player Welfare", "Disrespect towards Real Madrid", "Man Utd stadium tour review" and "End of season awards".

None of those seem to be celebrating 2 weeks of international football??

Very few people do read his articles. He is the biggest bullshitter on the site.

It is a wholly scheite situation for both Scotland and Ukraine not to mention potentially Wales too. FIFA should have just given Ukraine a bye for the next WC assuming the situation will have eased by then. Players shouldn't be worrying about football during a war and let's face it, the way it is going, things could be little changed or even worse by November? Also, I don't trust FIFA / UEFA not to ask the officials to 'look sympathetically' at the plight of the Ukrainians for the sake of a romantic story they can brag about.
