James was England’s best player last night. If he can’t find a way of implementing taa and James into the team then it just shows the limitations of Southgate. 2 generational talents. He needs to take the hand brake off.

Nothing can be done about Southgate he’s a loser as a player and a manager.

Look at what a difference the new England cricket coach Brendon McCullum is making and there’s the difference. No more talent than before it’s just a case of bringing out the best in each player.

If people didn’t see this happening under Southgate then they had their heads in the sand, we were ridiculously efficient in the World Cup (sterling uncharacteristically so) and beat teams who we should have. As soon as we have to unlock a defence or play a decent team we can’t as our attacking players are stifled and we have no attacking style of play under Southgate

And injecting some positivity in the approach to the matches, which you can't really say Southgate is doing.

What I saw was a team of exhausted players, both mentally and physically, trying their best against a committed team who had more energy.

I understand that TAA had already been released by Southgate to go on a well earned holiday.

Despite the successes our team enjoyed and the fantastic play at times, one of my abiding memories is watching TAA trying to get back into the box, seemingly oblivious to Junior going full belt behind him, to score and for Real to win the Cup. Like the rest of the team, Trent looked absolutely knackered in that game, and he wasn’t alone on that score.

Sounds like Chelsea too

I would be more worried that preseaosn starts in 2 weeks and the players are expected now to have played 4 game sin a meaningless tripe of a tournament. maybe get 2 weeks off, stright into preseason and then hit a full on hot country world cup (albeit with supposed air con stadiums)

This would suggest to me that england players are going to be wrung out and fail at world cup.

He was subbing on kane in the games FF as well as starting so he played a part in all 4. what the hell!

just treat it like the nothing comp it is. play the b team and let them try to win games.

Instead he plays the best players, tires them out, injures some and manages to still end up in relegation danger.

I actually saw my cat leap up and catch a bat a couple of years ago.

My other cat caught one last year which I managed to save and take to a bat sanctuary.
