Even as a back up to Rodri if he came on a free and played for nothing. Nowhere near good enough, and the English player premium would make it a ridiculous move for City, and given that he would only play the EFL games and a few minutes here and there unless Rodri was injured, I cannot see it as a good move for him either.
Phillips- Just no

Do you see him in the team for big games though Boris? I'm not judging him on tonight, the whole team had a stinker, and as for Kane's pathetic dive to try to win a penalty the least said the better.

Just out of curiousity, would the Citizens also say no to Rice because he's been sheit for recently?

I'd have Rice over Phillips any day but I thought he wanted to play at Old Trafford.

I just don't want to be paying the 'English premium' for a player who is likely to be a back up unless he can really push Rodri for a place. It is a position the club need to fill, but at a sensible price.

He'd be more of a long term replacement for Gundo though.

Been out injured all season, no wonder he's not played well

If you lot buy him I will be shocked. He's ass and that would be be the worst signing under pep. Did pep sign Delph BTW?

Pep doesn’t sign City’s players.
Begiristain and his team do that.

Maybe you'll play 2 defensive minded midfielders rather than 1 if you're losing your 'false 9' type forward that's always dropping deeper and working their nuts off. Haaland won't offer the same as when you've had Foden/Jesus/KDB up top surely?

That's a good point.
It doesn't also do any harm to have a different kind of player in the squad. Particularly one who is so hard working, professional, versatile, and usually quite careful with the ball. Plus if City are losing Bernardo, they're losing another option in the double pivot when Pep goes 4-2-3-1.
Would also give Pep another option at CB when City are chasing games maybe.
