Phillips In and Gabby Jesus just about gone

Just like the Grealish signing I am not that excited about the Phillips signing but both are Pep signings and you kinda have to trust the manager on these things.

Think Phillips has been harshly judged on his England performances. Put Rodri in there he would also struggle. A bit more research on Philips and you will realise he ticks a lot of boxes for what Pep demands of his players. The deal has gone for 42 million which feels a bit like a steal if you consider his age and the fact that he is english. For me the fact that the player was desperate to join is also important.

A few facts about Phillips, a decent dribbler, he tops ball recoveries along with Rodri in the league and is also one of the best long passers in the league. Think Pep will improve him.

Gabby looks to be on his way out for 45 rising to 50 million. Think its a good deal for all parties. Stoked for Gabby who gets to play with his mate Martinelli and I quite like the look of the arsenal young attack. He is not world class and his game can desert him in spells but he has heart and gives his all. A perfect fit for Arsenal.

Regarding Sterling, I hope we keep him but if he doesn't sign a new deal then I would rather we sell and even consider Dembele on a free as back-up to Mahrez.

If we get the Cucurella deal over the line next week that means we will have our 4 new signings in the squad ahead of pre-season. Think we might just win the transfer window if that means anything.

I'm sure we both agree a sterling on form for 50-60m is a crazy bargain, in today's market.

This we would not mate. Although statically not as great I found sterling a better player at least on the ball when he was at Liverpool. I wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole and have for years said I’d take him last out of city’s attacking players. Aguero, sane, mahrez, silva, kdb, foden over the years I’d take all infront of him. Even Jesus

I just think sterling in form, at 50-60m in today's prices, I'd a bargain. City are miles above Chelsea, spurs and arsenal and I think, with games, he'd be a valuable asset.

He'd make a big difference if utilised properly at them teams. He is capable of really hurting teams and that's a valuable thing to have, and usually expensive. Sterling for less than Pepe is a steal imo all the players u named I prefer but they would be way more than the prices quoted for raheem.

Havent seen any of this on the Official City website, the only trustworthy site when it comes to City transfer business. Everything else is just speculation.
Would City sign a proven Prem striker with a strike rate of one goal every 2 and a bit games or .38 of a goal every 90 minutes ( who works that out ).
If the answer is yes then why would the sell him and especially to a potential rival

Sterling going to Chelsea would be odd after that time he was racially abused at the Bridge.

Wasn’t that unfounded in the end. I remember the guy lost his job despite there being no proof in the end.

I’m with you nick

I’ve never rated Sterling ….runs down blind alleys, doesn’t know when to pass , can’t finish

His stats are boosted by being in the best team in the prem….city attack a lot so things do come off for him due to having lots of opportunities

Definitely the worse city offensive player

Don’t get the hype and never have

Sancho for United exactly the same ….he just looked great in a weaker league

Just read up on this. I was wrong. Looks like 5 fans were banned for abusive behaviour, 1 banned for life for racist abuse. Although no solid document on what was said.

Agree. Sterling though imo has world class off the ball runs and movement: it’s his top skill.

He claimed he called him a 'Manc Caant' rather than a 'Black Caant' but the video looked pretty damning tbh.

But Nick doesnt like Sterling so no point arguing this.
Sterling misses a lot of seaters but at City he is playing at a higher level than he would at other clubs.

His movement is world class, its a pity he is not equally effective once he receives the ball in the final 3rd.

Wouldn’t say I don’t like sterling. Just don’t think he’s as good a footballer as people make out. Also nobody is arguing. And you’ve just agreed with my point about his movement being word class. Literally repeated what I said.

Strange comment
