M Utd....wow....

Now the mighty Liverpool are solid and set with the signings through the door and the Salah contract issue sorted I thought if wander over to the "official M Utd" web page and have a scroll through their team...WOW!

They have 13 defenders on their books and their mf is so lightweight i dont think i have ever seen a weaker utd mf. Up front they dont have much either...loads of "familiar" prem players going/gone.

Likes of Mata..Lingaard..Ronaldo..Cavanni...Pogba..leaving or going; up front they have martial, not sure he wants to be there....Rashford..not sure utd fans want him there....Greenwood..not sure anyone wants him there!

Not sure what utd fans expect but as our rivals i cant see them doing anything at all next season, in fact id say they are a mid table prem side at present.....kinda all cool

I wouldn't put money on it, but they may surprise you GB.
I believe a lot of our defensive woes were due to organisation.
Our midfield is weak I grant you, but besides McFred we now have Donny who our manager may get a tune out of, and Garner who wason loan last season to Forest, and their fans rate him.
Attack we have pace in abundance plus two unknows in Amed and Pellestri.
I'm optimistic even if we sign nobody.
I think we have our best signing done in
Ten Hag. Fingers crossed anyway

One good thing for Utd
Whoever they bring in will almost certainly be an upgrade for their squad

This is very true.

Man U should try the Ajax route for a change. Just buy in up and coming players

MU52 - in many ways, this is what being a fan is. The optimism, the belief that the team will come together. I should know, there have been many times over the last 30 odd years that I thought Liverpool might surprise a few people. It (very) rarely happened.

You can never tell until the end of the window but right now, I’m not sure anyone outside of the Utd fan base would back you to finish in the top 4. As good as ETH may be, Conte and Tuchel are both top quality as well and EPL experienced. Long term he could be exactly what you’ve been looking for though.

By the same token, nobody would have put us sixth before last season kicked off. Last year was a particularly bad season; the year before, we capitalised on a couple of other teams’ bad seasons. Basically, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and United are fighting for the two spots behind City and Liverpool (though you can never discount a West Ham etc). Currently I would back them in the order I’ve typed them but, as you say, the window is still open and we don’t know how the new manager will affect the players we already have.

Fair point. Last year I had Utd as 4th. But in fairness, Spurs had Nuno and looked likely to lose Kane. A lot changes in a year.

Utd do have talent in areas, it’s not like ETH is working with nothing, and he’ll add to the squad without doubt. Top 4 would still be impressive in his debut season though.

It would. I’m not expecting top four really, but I do think we should be able to have a go at the Europa with some decent signings and if Ten Hag is as good as we hope.

It all depends on if Unimed's players buy in to the ETH for me
