"Ajax have agreed a fee with Tottenham Hotspur for the signing of winger Steven Bergwijn, according to reports in the Netherlands.
The Dutchman has been heavily linked with a departure this summer after making just four Premier League starts last season for the north London club.
Bergwijn looks set to return to his home country with De Telegraaf reporting that a €30 million (£25.8m) deal was struck with Ajax on Sunday night."
Never really got a full opportunity, and in glimpses showed there was great potential there.

How much did we buy him for? Sounds like we more or less broke even (not taking wages into account) but I can't remember the exact amount we paid for him.

£26m is not a bad fee considering he was only ever a bit part player. I always thought there was a good player in there but he never really got a run of games at Spurs, we`ll never know how good he could have been, but I suspect he will rip up the poor Dutch league.

It's a shame it didn't work out for him at Spurs. I think if we had had an injury problem with our forwards like Son being out for months he might have seized the opportunity and become a regular starter. Showed some glimpses of brilliance and scored some important goals. However having said that, I don't think we will regret selling him. I'm sure he will have a good career but maybe not so good that we feel like we let him go too easily.

Good player who never really got a run in our team
Scored some important goals when his did play and them 2 goals at Leicester were fantastic and got us a valuable 3 points.

Dele Ali once said Bergwijn was the most skillful player at the club. I think it was just him not getting utilised properly and working out in Contes system.
Ali did also say that he was the 2nd most skillful player though so make of it what u will 😂

Had a really good run under Jose and looked like he could do it.

It's harsh to say he bottled chances. On several occasions he came into the side and did well. There's very few players that can play a bit part role and still play at their very best every time.

He fluffs chances to score.
I think it’s because he’s in and and out of the side. I think playing regularly will see him score quite a lot of goals.
