The one I wanted recruited for CB all along.
CBs comprising of Silva, Koulibaly, Chalobah, Ampadu, Colwill (and James, whenever necessary) is sufficient for CB position...back three or four in a perfect world (I'm not against Sarr staying if he's ready to be last choice).
Diverse in age and skill set.
Work with that and assess the situation at the end accordingly.
Any more than that is overkill and unnecessary misspend of funds.
Koulibaly on a 3 + 1 year contract...

Think Chelsea are aiming for the title...I know they were last season after spending on every player going...But this coming season, it is the Chelsea year....
They are signing players that are born to be a Chelsea players...who are the same players as those not born to be on, but once they sign fo Chelsea they are "born" to be Chelsea players

Such blissful ignorance

Glad you caught that too

You come round on signing Sterling yet?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope. Will be open minded though. Can only judge him on how he plays for us and will hzve my support

I'd be more than happy with Dujon Sterling and Ian Maatsen as back up to James and Chilwell - no need to spend vast sums of money on backups when we have them anyway!

"The player I wanted all along" mate you only know about buying this guy 24 hours ago, not when you were a teenager.
"Born to be a Chelsea player" what does that even mean ??
God, the rubbish football fans come out with is so funny.
Not in any other world sport does a person go so over the top when someone joins their club, than in football.

"I'd look to address cover for the FB's/WB's next too. I'd personally do left side first (if one who can play both isn't available) as I've got no issues with Hudson-Odoi acting as James' backup on the right side, but I know you disagree."
Quite the contrary.
You are mistaken, my problem lies with when Hudson-Odoi is predominantly playing in the suboptimal right wing-back role, over his optimum position at left forward.
RWB & LWB acceptable as a secondary role to the main position on the left.
Of course, Hudson-Odoi is an extremely intelligent player but stints at right wing-back doesn't benefit his attacking development in the longrun.
Ultimately I will always argue primarily featuring him at RWB is setting him up to fail.
Doesn't make use of abundant qualities.
As for the cover at LWB, Tuchel has a number of options for that - Alonso, Emerson, Kenedy, ok let's just say they all move on...
Tuchel still has Lewis Hall & Vale at his disposal, beyond me why Tuchel chose to disregard them as options last season (after strong showings on debut, in which they didn't look out of place against stern PL opposition)...instead decided to attempt recalling Emerson (a player who he barely gave the time of the day on the pitch) & Kenedy (never played).
Careless decision-making.
Then wonders why these academy players decide to leave permanently.
These standout youth players just desire a fair chance, a viable pathway.
It's not that difficult to offer them, that over players that are surplus...

What an uplifting signing that is. It's years too late (like Silva) but who gives af, he was born to be a Chelsea player. He's in that unique category of player, along with Silva & Kante (and young Azpi), that would've slotted right into our mid/late noughties team no problem
I'd look to address cover for the FB's/WB's next too. I'd personally do left side first (if one who can play both isn't available) as I've got no issues with Hudson-Odoi acting as James' backup on the right side, but I know you disagree
Then a focal point striker, even if only a squad packer, to offer an alternative to a number of F9 options, then I'd be done.

We need another CB. Silva and Koulibaly are gonna miss too many games through either injury or rest. And we still have not addressed rep, acing Alonso

if all our bids pay off we could soon be being defended by the KKK
Kounde
Koulibali
Kimpembe
a strange turn up for the clan i guess.
