It's a pity that all the early momentum regarding signings has been lost.
We spent a mind-numbing month chasing a pipe-dream in CDK, while Kalimuendo now seems more resistant to leaving his current club than before.
I like the look of Terrier but will his price tag put the club off? If the reports are true, we're after a Columbian forward from the Mexican League - Julian Quinones. I've never heard of him and don't know anything about him. He might be comparatively cheap but for me it's a gamble. How long will a player from the other side of the world take to acclimatise and adapt? It's anybody's guess who we'll end up with but we seem to have reverted to our old ways of faffing about forevermore chasing targets, only to eventually lose out. Once it became obvious CDK only wanted to move to Milan, we should have moved on. We had a ring-side seat for how the Raphinha saga played out, and appear to have learned nothing from that experience.
Silly me for thinking that the sale of Leif Davis meant that we had a replacement in the wings close to being announced. 5 days later and it's pretty quiet on that front with the exception of an alleged bid for Philipp Max, whose club it would seem are reluctant to sell due an injury to another of their left-backs. Another complicated situation which runs the risk of dragging on until we concede that the transfer isn't going to happen. Potentially more time lost, and we'll still be looking elsewhere for a left-back.
It makes me wonder if after all this time, we finish up bringing in "patch-up" players just to get bodies in.
A crying shame after the frenetic pace of recruitment earlier in the close season.

Kammy, just to make the point - not once have I mentioned Orta in my article. I've either referred to "we" or "the club". Orta won't be solely responsible for the club's transfer policy - it's a collective responsibility, hence the reference to "the club". I mention "we" because I consider myself part of the LUFC family, and as part of that family, I care.
In a couple of my previous articles I have acknowledged the good work done by "the club" in getting players in quickly. I've also alluded to that acknowledgement in the first sentence of this article, and once more in the last sentence.
As a parent, if I berate my kids for doing something wrong but praise them for doing something good or right, and I'm accused of being fickle, then yes, I am fickle. I see it differently however.
To clarify, my allegiance to Leeds United as well as my family is unconditional. That doesn't prevent me from speaking out if I'm not happy about something, or expressing an opinion. I reject the accusation of being fickle but I respect your right to your opinion.
Thanks for your comment though and I hope your plss cools quickly

Not only a case of where has all the close gone but now where has all the money gone?
Net spend is about £0
Appreciate wages likely to have risen considerably but it does again seem that we doing it on the cheap
3 seasons of tv money now
Stadiums full
Income rising each season.
Profit making last accounts.

Net spend of about £150m since promotion. Likes likely to rise significantly again given the bids made for CDK and a left back expected to sign.
As you have said wages will be have increased a lot this summer.
Profit in accounts is due to amortisation and the owner writing off a personal loan of £20m.

We will likely make a loss on last seasons accounts and a profit on this seasons.
Next seasons will certainly be a loss because the accounts will show transfer spend on all 4 summers in the Premier League at that point.
So fees for the following will all be included.
Rodrigo
Llorente
Koch
Harrison
Costa
Meslier
James
Firpo
Sinisterra
Aaronson
Adams
Roca
Kristensen
As well as anyone we sign in the rest of this window and the next 3. And anyone that I have missed off the list.

Wouldn’t really have a huge impact on profit and loss
