watched most of the city game today and the smokeblowing commentators dragging stats that are totally unusable...city had almost 80% possession and about 850 passes 90% acurate wow but most of the passing was approx 3m or less nad most of the possession was in their own half...boring as f***.
at one stage i counted 31 passes to gain about 10m up field which west ham gained back by sneaking up the field at the next throw in. two shots on target inc the penalty and the goal. Now i dont like liverpool but their play puts those stats to shame, as will our soon i hope.

Prefer the 4 pass move starting with Ederson that led to the 2nd goal.

City games are hard to watch and seem to go on and on for 5 hours. You can't deny the brilliance but it's boring unless you're a City fan.

Pointless stats? They comfortably won a game at a tough stadium in searing heat in 2nd gear and kept a clean sheet. I found your disjointed performance more boring but thats for another day.
Westham was set-up exactly the same way 2 months ago and the game ended 2-2 and was quite the spectacle. This time Pep changed it up and Moyes even acknowledged that in his post match conference.
You clearly dint like football tactics or are too daft to understand them so I will break it down for you.
Cancelo and Walker moved in and played as 2 DMs, Dias and Aker moved into the space between the CB and Fullbacks.
Foden and Grealish stretched the pitch and held the ball up well on the right and left whilst KDB and Gundo bombed forward so basically the formation became 2-3-5 and Westham didnt have a clue.
Game could have been much fun if Grealish and Gundo passed the ball early to Haaland but that will come eventually.

It can be tedious at times, no City fan will deny that but the flashes of brilliance compensate for that.
The players are told to keep possession as much as possible and wait for or create an opening which works most of the time.
No one can say that the games against the better teams are boring, the 2 league games against 'Pool and the games against Real Madrid last season were top drawer entertainment.

Didn't they suffocate you twice 1-0 last season playing the exact same way.

That's a fair comment, and yeah whilst it is pretty boring at times the flashes of brilliance like yesterday must make it worth it! And the trophies of course

I find City much more interesting to watch than Liverpool.
Pep’s style is so intricate, it’s hard to score goals in the way they try, but they still score 100 goals a season.
It’s impressive.
Liverpool’s try-hard, ‘heavy metal’ stuff I find a bit weird to watch tbh. Because you know any team could replicate it if they really wanted to. It’s just so basic in comparison.

i know tactics wee had mourinho twice as manager and his tactic were similar in chelseas team slowly strangled the opposition until the submitted. it was effective(many titles) but even as a chelsea fan the second season was boring as we knew we were almost certainly going to win even if we went behind. Sarriball was also the same he just never figured it out in England. BORING but effective.
