Trying to find some positives from today's game, I thought he played some great passes & as we're coming to expect, look extremely comfortable with the ball at his feet. It has changed the way we play out, just need the other 10 players to start the season.
He came & grabbed a few high balls as well, also good to see

I'm really pleased so far.
I would like the midfielders to show for the ball more.
Time and again he had to give it to AWB, who has his qualities but playing out from the back isn't one of them.

We've finally signed a ball playing keeper and realised the players ahead of him aren't very comfortable on the ball. 😂

As someone said above, his qualities are being wasted because are midfield are surplus to requirements. They either are too shiiiit or don't have the minerals to come and collect the ball to start play.
You can see how frustrated he is having to play the ball over and over to AWB.

I really like what I have seen of Onana.
Love his short and long distributions
But utds ball retention ability makes his strengths almost wasted

Completely agree, I'm hoping it's just the players getting used to him as DDG either kicked it to LB/RB or hoofed it aimlessly forward, he was never looking for any other pass

He's just a proper goalkeeper (at the moment) - and, as the club hasn't had one for 12 seasons, it's a start.
Too early to get over excited though
how good he turns out for the club - in this league - remains to be seen.
