yesterday was brilliant in my book. Still some defensive weaknesses to iron out but their keeper especially, and their defence had a fantastic game. Lots of saves and lucky deflections. We play like that every game and only a few teams in this league can live with us.
Salah with a very satisfying overall performance and I don't know who to big up because the players were all great. Special mention for Grav as he has a lot of doubters in that position but in this game you could see from Grav what Slot wants in that position.
He might not be a "ball winner in midfield" but he's been good enough and very good in the two games he's played there. Also another fantastic Diaz performance but this time capped with a goal and assist. He only scored 4 goals last season and not many assists iirc so he needs to make up for lost time and he's off to a great start in that respect.
United at OT should be a tougher test than Ipswich away and Brentford at home so let's see how we go and how Grav plays when we come under a bit of pressure. I don't expect United to park the bus in their own backyard and I noticed they tried to play counter attack against Brighton and spring the offsides, sometimes I think we are doing better than them at the moment. They'll be at home and will have to try to control the ball and keep possession and bring the game to us which should suit our quick transitions and fluid movement up the pitch. What say you? YNWA
That Performance

I didn’t see the game, but I keep reading that Grav will be exposed against better teams. He’s obviously new in that position, so he’s going to get caught out at times against many teams. We’ve just got to be patient with him, and Slot wouldn’t have put him there for the sake of it, he’s clearly seen something that makes him suitable.

Stats of that game are ominous.
Liverpool completed 92% of their passes against Brentford, their best passing accuracy in a Premier League game on record since 2003-04.
Against Ipswich they had 50 touches in the opposition box, the most in a manager’s first-ever game in charge in the Premier League since Opta started recording the data in 2008-09.

Good start to the season from us and played some really good stuff yesterday. Tough one to come next. Signs are tactically we are setting up to be more solid which I have wanted for ages, but only time will tell.

I watched the whole game and yeah, looks like Slot sees him as the most suitable for that role which says a lot about what he wants in that role.

We're certainly not getting countered or caught out as often. Also fewer individual errors.

The only time we’re getting caught out is from our own corners. So that’s a bit of a concern.

Better opposition. True test for Grav and how Slot wants to play.
Last season even when we were in control there was still some panic which lead to us not winning.
Can we see a Man City way of control when they play at OT and cancel out the crowd.
Player for player we much better than them.

Yeah, but if we’re going to be realistic we’ve got to expect and accept some slip ups this season. I know plenty will declare a major disaster, declare Grav as a failed experiment and scream that Slots method aren’t suitable for anything but a farmers league if we lose to United, but the same people used to say ridiculous things about Klopp too.
