Ponderous

Only one word to describe the performance against Hull: ponderous. The number of side passes and back passes was coma-inducing. Rodon, Ampadu, Aaronson and Gruev are virtually incapable of playing forward passes. How often did we get to the edge of their penalty area, only to go backwards? The only players who look like they can change games are Gnonto, Joseph and Solomon. We saw one slide-rule pass from Firpo and that was it. In-play crossing of the ball was non-existent and were it not for Hull’s woeful finishing, they could have been out of sight by half-time.
They have reminded us of our defensive shortcomings, though. Rodon and Struijk are just not on the same wavelength, Mes is an accident waiting to happen, and how often was Bogle caught out of position?
We look better as a counter-attacking team. Despite plenty of possession, we spend all our time tryIng to keep the ball instead of doing anything with it. Even after we score, you would think we would loosen the reins a little, but no, we play like we are frightened of conceding, rather than playing to finish the game off.
People will say that the win justifies the way we played. I say the win conceals basic flaws in how we manage games. Burnley after the break will a tougher challenge for us.

I will take that level of professionalism, yes I'll say it again professionalism, until the end of the season.

If we don't know now how this board is we never will!..

Its a well known fact that no matter what the team do someone's going to say something against it!..

Well I’ve just watched the extended highlights, having been at the game, and I think you must have been watching something else.

Yes we had times when we passed sideways and backwards but that happens in every game with every team.

Maybe search the EFL extended highlights on YouTube and you will see that every player you mentioned played some great forward passes when the situation presented itself.

Stoopo, I watched the full match last night, for the first time. I agree that retaining possession is a great quality, but purposeful possession is even better, and for long periods against Hull, we looked like we didn't know what to do with the ball. We would get to their penalty area and rather than run at them, or cross the ball into a dangerous space, we would pass the ball around, giving them time to regroup and making it harder to get through them.
That 20 minute period before half-time, they should have scored a couple. Ampadu losing the ball was one occasion; and then Millar shooting straight as Mes when he was put clear. Hull showed us how to play incisively, taking on our defenders and making clever runs behind Rodon and Bogle.
Ultimately it was a good win, but there is still plenty we can improve on, in my view.

Farke ball is slow and ponderous a lot of the time but we get away with it having a 100 mil team of prem drop outs at this level against poor opposition.

I cant recall Meslier making a save apart from the one that should have been given a foul for a shove on Rodon. Yes, we struggled to break down an organised side that was unbeaten but once the first goal went in it was all Leeds.

Apart from ten minutes after the first goal when they came back at us. Once we brought on our subs, we looked a lot sharper. Did anyone see the same game as me?

Early days for a lot of teams.
But like a lot of last season for us it's not a great watch.
Potential to improve like a few others but we will need to.
7/10 for what we've achieved so far.
5/10 for entertainment.
