Webbs always banging on about listening to clubs players managers etc and the refs and ref body wanting to learn and improve. But they never do, look at Bournemouths red today. We saw similar last year jones vs Spurs. And pros who played the game explained its common sense. Its high yes but hes won the ball and as a result foots been deflected bouncing off the ball onto the leg . Theres no intent or force or malice or whatever, common sense stick with the yellow. Instead they get involved on VAR and did what they also said theyd stop doing last year with Jones in showing the worst angle at super slow replay speed and ignored everything they was told and should have learnt last year.
Its so frustrating the officiating in the prem, and the quality of it is tragic. Webbs improved fack all has he?
Why dont refs listen to the pros?

If you believe the rumours of the refs in the far east.. and the images of their visit. They were listening too and playing around with PROS

As a United fan, I think the one on Maguire in the other box was just as bad. And the Cucurella one in the Chelsea game was much worse. So at least there was some consistency in none of them being eventually awarded as pens I guess.
BUT once the ref gave the Everton pen today, it shouldn't have been overturned as there was a clear shirt pull and no clear and obvious error. I don't get this high bar for shirt pulls anyway, it's been happening all season but it makes no sense. If you get the wrong side of someone and have to pull him back, it's a foul, regardless of where it is on the pitch

Yep. They basically need to make any grabbing of the shirt a foul, remove any ambiguity. If you’re grabbing someone’s shirt it’s because you’re trying to stop them making legitimate movement, normally in the area. So how they’ve managed to make it such a grey area is beyond me. It’s been said loads, you’d get a raft of fouls initially but the players would soon get the message.

Yup, they need a few seasons of giving pen out for any shirt grab whether there’s a pull or not. Unfortunately, it is endemic. TBH I’d be going further and making corners more like hockey penalty short corners with all defending team behind the goal line and all attacking team behind the 18yd line.

The rugby holding stuff at set pieces has gotten out of hand too.

The simple answer is because pros don’t know the laws of the game and work on emotion rather than actual law.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They understand the game better, and know when something shouldnt be a red card They also know what theyre told and can point it out when the people who tell them how it is go against that

They dont even stick to their own laws or guidelines.

Unfortunately I don’t think that’s true one bit. They often have ludicrous opinions on decisions because they don’t understand the laws of the game. Refereeing a game is completely different to playing it. Most referees would have played at some point anyhow, just not reached a level that makes it a job for them.

Why not give them all sticks and make the ball and goals a lot smaller too?
Penalty corners are shiite, and hockey's a game most people only ever bother watching once every four years because overall it's fackin' boring.

That’s even worse than the shirt-pulling, IMO.
Players should have their hands down by their sides when set pieces are being taken. They have no business holding them up over waist height.
