Rumour has it that the millenium magic weekend will this year be played at the city of manchester stadium. For me a lot easier to get to than the millenium stadium cardiff, but what if we have a rainy weekend,no roof to save the day it could be a disaster. We played the last match last year and the pitch just about held up but what if it rains and our showpiece could end up being a disaster. Not for me,any thoughts.?

Isn't the whole idea of the magic weekends an attempt to spread the game to other areas of the country.
A fine venue though it may well be, the COMS hardly fits that brief?

Be assured that some Rugby League fans will find an excuse not to attened, even in a city like Manchester next door to this mythical place they call the heartlands.
It could be free transport to the ground, free admission and some fans will still find excuses not to attened.

The rain may well effect the atmosphere but it won't effect the money role because the majority of the tickets will of been sold already..
I like the idea of your millenium weekend but I think it is just a bit to much spread over a weekend.
IMO I think they should hold the best 3 matches on a Sat. only and have the other games played home or away on the Sunday at their respective grounds, in this case of Manchester I would hold the 3 games from the clubs with-in this area, this does away with the expense of over-night accomadation and travel.....if you know what I mean
