Chelsea are one of the biggest football clubs in the world, yet the state of our online fan community is fragmented and, frankly, embarrassing.
This site, once a thriving offshoot of the legendary BBC 606 forums, used to be a place where fans came together to debate, discuss, and celebrate the beautiful game. It was built on diversity of opinion, passion, and banter. But somewhere along the way, a small group of Chelsea board members splintered off, forming their own echo chamber — “The Haven" — tucked away in the Sailing Forum of all places.
The Haven became a refuge for a handful of posters who, instead of embracing debate, chose to gatekeep it. Differing opinions weren’t welcome. Posters were banned for challenging the orthodoxy — like suggesting Marco van Basten might not be the right man for the Chelsea job (has he even managed since Holland?) or defending club legends like Drogba when others wanted him sold. Yes, sold. Before he won us multiple major trophies.
They even elected their own so-called “leaders" of the Haven — a clique who policed the conversation and silenced dissent. What was once a Chelsea board full of vibrant, diverse voices has been reduced to a shell, with only the Haven left standing as a semi-functional discussion space. Talented posters like Superb and NPE are effectively stuck there, while the main Chelsea board is a ghost town.
And let’s be honest — some members of that group (TLL and Biggish come to mind) were visibly gutted when we finished fourth or won another European trophy. How does that represent the spirit of Chelsea fandom?
My ask is simple:
Close the Haven. Bring the Chelsea board back into the public space where all voices can be heard.
Yes, you might lose a few posters. But you might also attract a new, broader, and more representative community — people who currently see this site as a private joke. The current setup is holding back what could once again be the best Chelsea fan community online.
Because honestly — what is the point of running this site if open debate isn’t allowed?

I tried to keep the main board alive for at least a year that I can remember. I wondered where all the Chelsea fans went before I realized the Haven even existed.
CMF holds up the board now, and I can't question his commitment
