7PM tonight

I'm sure everyones aware by now, but the Hillsborough Commons debate is tonight. As an Evertonian who (tries) to remain as unbiased as possible, I'd like to see full support from our elected representatives tonight, so the files are released immediately, once the families give their blessings. I've even been pestering my local MP to see if she'll be there tonight.

I actually know a few lads who lost loved ones on the day, and I've seen the effects that years of waiting have caused. I was only 4 at the time but I remember watching the story dramatised on ITV, and it was powerful stuff. My Dad, older brother and my Uncle are all rabid Liverpool fans and I remember my Dad telling me, the whole City stood together when it happened. Hopefully tonight will be the same.

Cheers RED666, don't get me wrong I enjoy the banter but some things you just don't joke about, although all clubs have guilty fans things like Munich, Hillsborough, Heysal, Istanbul etc just shouldn't be taken lightly. People lost loved ones on these days, it brings home the fact that it's just a game, and all fans should realise how similar we all are.

I want justice but why has it taken so long to be looked at. Our government lie through their teeth especially the current lot who are trying to cover Thatchers lots mistakes. They will have tampered with the evidence for sure so i can't see it being accurate.

They can lie all they want but i know what i witnessed that day and i remember it like it was yesterday and i will take it to my grave with me and nothing will change my opinion.

Well the Govt say all files will be released, EVENTUALLY. To me that suggests they want to lessen the controversy because they know there's something they'd rather keep hidden.

Labour should be ashamed too of course, it took them 12 years to set up the current inquiry

Does anyone know if the debate is being shown on the Parliament channel?

I would imagine so, the debates are part of a drive to make the public feel more involved with the political process so I can't see them not being screened.
