Gatland is an idiot

So let me get this straight.....

Wales were going to cheat but Gatland thought it would be against the spirit of the game...

So why exactly has he admitted this?

Does he want thanks for not cheating? Does he want people to go 'Well done Wales for not cheating'

get a grip!

The depths to which Rugby people go to cheat is staggering.

Cheating in any sport is wrong .... it's no longer sport if you do. Saying that, lets not start trying to score points from one sport to another. Most coaches/teams/players will seek to push the boundaries of whats permitted within the rules/code of their particular sport - they all do it to seek an advantage.

Footballers try to con refs, rugby players get up to all sorts of skulduggery in scrums etc.... it goes on and always will do.

I don't think any better/worse of Gatland because of his comments. I just reckon he's showing some honesty.

Footballers try to con refs,
***
no more than gamesmanship...

...but to actually bring props onto the pitch...?

It was hypothetical and said in order to raise publicity for his apparent feeling of being 'cheated' out of a contest during the game.

He was suggesting that a tactic such as, taking a prop off, would make the game a little more 'even' but less of a spectacle for the viewer and would have been morally incorrect.

He's trying to run a paralell with the decision by Rolland to send off Warburton, which changed the course of the match completely and, in his opinion, incorrectly, in light of all circumstances surrounding the sending off.

Gatland made the correct 'moral' choice, the ref, also had another 'choice' (in his opinion) He made the wrong choice.

If the game is to be played 'to the letter of the law' for every possible offence, it will of course eventually grind to a complete halt.

Just my take on it, Gatland can twist the media when he wants to make a point still it seems. Little will come of this I suspect.

(..and I didn't say I agree with him, just that this is my understanding of this story)

I said last week that Gatland makes it very difficult to like wales, but that his attitude this WC and the way wales were playing had totally turned me around and gained massive respect from me.

Then he put his foot it again.

I really dont understand why he felt the need to tell people this... Its makes absolutely no sense. Its a complete change of subject, Now nobody is talking about the red card, nobody is talking about the decision or pondering/debating that call.

Now its all about Gatland again, and his size 12 in his own mouth.

A sure sign of a 'great' side

what can you say about the comments of Gatland. Does it bring the game in disrepute? Whatever really it was a stupid thing to say. We all think lots of things but sayign them out load

Gatland cost Wales their rightful place in the WC final or at least a bronze medal! HE SHOULD BE SACKED NOT APPLAUDED!
