What would stop you supporting Spurs?

Is there anything that could make you stop supporting Spurs? I was having this discussion with a friend in the pub the other day and I thought it'd make for a fairly good discussion on here.

What If to say we were to move location, to say East London or Hertfordshire?

Be taken over by a multi-billionaire and try to buy everything?

Or dare I say if we were to be relegated and relegated till eventually we're in League 2?

If the club got caught up in match fixing scandals?

Or are you so loyal that nothing could ever stop you supporting Spurs?

THudd :

Just left a nice little message for him on not606.

BTW, I note that he has not been posting to the Spurs board there. Probably thinks hes' slipped under the radar. But we know his OCD will bring him back to the Spurs boards in Net land soon enough ...

What if Spurs...

Threw away a 4 goal lead v Newcastle
Lost to Birmingham City in the CC final
then put their prices up by 6%

DDD :

IMHO location is one of those last tribal things that ties football to society (specifically the community in which the clubs were born and grew) . And which separates a football club from business in general (even though THFC is a PLC) .

Spurs as a brand name is location agnostic.
As would be the "Spurs way" of playing football.

If we moved.

I was born and raised in Tottenham, when i was at school we had Tottenham players come in, on matchdays you would leave your house and just get swept up in the crowds. My dad lived next door to the wonderful and kind Sir Bill Nicholson (who used to post scarves and other memrobilia through the door).

Everything i know about Tottenham Hotspur and the reason i support them is because of my life being spread around them.

Maybe i could go support Millwall they look like a friendly set of fans

Having any red on the strip would be up there. I refused to buy the Mansion logo shirt for that very reason.

That said I sucked it up even when George Graham (with his goon patio) became our manager- thats how much I love the Mighty Spurs!

The Graham factor was completely diluted IMHO by the presence of the greatness that was ... GI-NO-LA !!!

Ginola was a player who was as so Spurs as one could be in tradition for one who was so anti that tradition in terms of his Arsenal teams.

Would like to know how Graham dealt with this dichotomy ...
