Poor Home Support

See Leeds take a lot of fans away from home and they really get behind the team and cheer them on and we have a good away record as such.

However home support has really started to drift away for such a big club.

Leeds are probably the biggest club in the championship yet are getting low 20s thousands.

I look at Sunderland getting 37 thousand yesterday and Everton getting 33 thousand both similar size clubs to Leeds yet getting 10-15 thousand more having poor seasons in the Premier League, but the loyalty remains. Would Leeds get that many in the Prem playing badly as many fans seem not to bother unless we are winning a lot.

We really need to get the home fans back as loyal supporters seem to be drifting away and it looks like the club is in decline by the home gates.

RSL - completely agree over the kids. It's ridiculous paying anything over a fiver for a kids ticket. If we don't get young people involved the club will suffer from much more lost revenue (shirt sales etc) in the long run then the short term benefit of an extra couple of quid on ticket sales.

I think there are two things keeping the crowds down. The first, as has been suggested is pricing. The second is momentum. The season we got relegated from the championship had lower attendences and the atmousphere was dire at times. I remember going to ER against the blunts and we just couldn't get behind the lads. Last few seasons have brought about a new energy and ER was rocking. Away games have kept this up and people go because they know they are in for a great day whatever the score. Same can't be said for home games this season though.

Until we scored yesterday unusually the fans seemed quiet too, normally they create a right old racket.

Really think the point on kids tickets is valid too, as a business man Bates has got this wrong, how much do other teams charge for kids?

I know Derby do quite a few offers for kids (quid for a kid) things like that. Not sure what the average price is. I'm sure a few resident statiticians on here will tell you! (or make it up)

Bates as a businessman has got a lot wrong this season i think. his main problem for me though is that he is too stubborn (or stupid) to realise he has made a mistake and rectify it before it brings everything down.

Attendence is key for getting promoted. Look at Norwich last season.

Attendance is also the key to the funding of a football club and the future fan base.
Losing a fan base has long reaching consequences.
Bates clearly does not care long term but even short term he has got it wrong.

Where are these 11 clubs in this league more expensive than Leeds (according to Bates)

Just shows how much out of touch with this country he is, nevermind the fans themselves. Obviously the cuts havent hit Monaco yet.. Though I'm sure he has nightmares over taxes

When on the radio he actually talks about times being tough for the fans, unfortunately does nothing about it
