Le Mans, IndyCar, SBK, MotoGP, F1...

Was thinking ahead of this weekends F1GP, just how good a feast of motorsport we had on the recent weekend of 11/12 June.

Le Mans this year was probably the best 24h race I've ever seen, and I've seen all of them since the mid 90's - the Audi crashes would probably have been fatal only last year, and the sole remaining Audi won by only a few seconds after most of an entire GP season's distance battling all the Peugeots, with the lead changing every time any of them had a pitstop - an amazingly good race.

Dario Franchitti won one of the two (!) IndyCar races over at Texas Motor Speedway in the meantime.

The Superbikes were also out in Misano that weekend, and some MotoGP riders wobbled around in the rain at Silverstone on the Sunday...

And then Jenson Button kept his cool in the rain enhanced Canadian GP while all around were losing theirs, to win after coming back from last place amidst all the chaos!

What a superb weekend, with something for everyone, and some excellent racing of many kinds beamed out live or in highlights (the Senior TT race had just finished screaming around the IOM on the Friday), for us all on tv.

Has there ever been a better choice of top class motorsport to enjoy, all on one weekend?
