Whether we finally go up or not to the 'promised land' this is as good a moment as any for brief thank-you towards Brian McD. Taking over from Rodgers last season, you won't need reminding that we were in all sorts of relegation difficulty, but an upward curve, coupled with a good FA cup run, got us up to 9th spot at the end.
If we're truthful, many didn't think we'd better that this season, especially when we briefly dangled as the 15th placed team in mid-February. Not only another good cup run, special highlight the Everton victory in Liverpool, but we raced like a bull up to nearing the automatic top two some four/five games before the end of this campaign. Alomg the way attracting the plaudits from other managers, fans, and the press at large. OK, we finished 5th at the very end, but a definate improvement on last year, and one of our top six finishes of ALL time.
Let's have some nice words of appreciation for BRIAN then, lads & lasses !

Doesn't really work right now :D
The guy made so many genius changes, big and small, to the way we approached games, how the players were managed, the style we play in and the relationship between the team and the press/fans. All of them have collectively had a profound impact turning us from relegation candidates to promotion candidates and turning boo-boys like Kebe, Long, Pearce and Cummings into some of my favourite players!
