Giants chances

The chances of the Giants having a good season appear to be fading rapidly as the opening nears. With big names not expected to be fit until March at the earliest, and then Mason missing due to injury, Kevin Brown has now joined the list of the injured. The first few games are going to be played with a lot of new members and younger players. I hope they can step up and give a good showing but I am not too optimistic.

In the long term having injuries can help develop a strong squad of players for the future.....I know this doesn't help win games whilst the stars are sitting on the side lines though.....

My mob South's had a horrible run of injuries in 2011, mainly to the forwards as early as round 2.
By mid-season we had 2 regular forwards fit and fully stretched being forced to play players who wouldn't of been a chance any other time......by seasons end these same players had improved 100% and were pushing for a top 8 position right up until round 26......Come season 2012 and some of these players have to get called upon to fill a spot or two I will not be concerned one bit, we now have a strong group of forwards of about 14 players with-in the club who can more then handle the top level....cheers & good luck..

Well Mr. Keep it Coming events have proved you wrong and shown my pesimism to be misplaced. Would be interested to know where your team is sat at the moment!

As much as I'm pleased to see the Giants at the top of the pile, we should remember that we've been here before!

Over the last 3 or 4 seasons Giants have started exceptionally well, but come the play-offs they always seem to go off the boil and throw all that hard work away.

The Wolves will, as ever, be knocking on the door, and of course Saints' have found their old form again, and will be challenging sooner or later.

The Giants need to find consistency & stamina, not just for the season, but for the play-off games and beyond!

Jack, I think a coach comes into his own when it comes to the big games and has the ability to lift the players accordingly.....the combinations and defencive patterns come automatically by seasons end but it's the mind factor that is the difference between doing the lap of honour or not and certain coaches are very good at lifting their players for the occasion.

Nathan Brown over trains the giants thats why they run out of steam in the last months of the season.

You watch they will peak early and fall off towards the back end.
