Aus Vs Sri Lanka ODI

Great Match going on here.

Has anyone seen Forrest bat? He seems to be scoring a few runs.

Lankans after a very poor 8 or 9 months after the World Cup are really producing now.

Thoughts?

Afridi - you and PR obviously speak the same language.

I think what PR was trying to say is that when SA or England losr in Asia, rather than forget about their failings and say "Wait til you come to our backyard" (eg something that an Indian player said in the recent tour in Oz).

Eng and SA try and rectify it as soon as possible (eg there's been a massive improvement in England's recent performace in this series and South Africa's recent performances in the subcontinent), whereas India have continued to fail in Oz as Pakistan did in 2009-10 (I think they lost every match in that tour).

So I totally understand what PR is saying, it may not be spot on (as England seemed to learn nothing from their 5 match ODI whitewash in India), but let's hope these recent improved performances in the UAE continue in the tours to SL and India.

Sri lanka have been proactive (in terms of management, planning, team selection, approach, attitude) in ensuring that they can adapt to different conditions and are now reaping those rewards by beating the aussies and india to clinch top spot in the tri-series in foreign conditions. Fair point

I think PR was having a dig at Pakistan and India fans in particular, who instead of acknowledging the fact that our teams are poor outside of the subcontinent, point the finger at other teams (saffers/aussies/England) and their inability to play on spin-friendly conditions……

Point is all teams should try to play and adapt to all conditions, regardless of whether they are playing at home or away, and to some extent the Lankans have done that.

I agree with PR in some respects, we never learn though!!

I made a right git of myself after being on a house boat for 5 days with no papers, radio or idiot box because of lack of reception.....I walked into my local after un-packing for a couple of ales and Aust. were 2 for 50 odd when I asked my mates how many did Ponting get......

Well I wasn't to know he had the tap on the shoulder and retired from the pyjama game, my mates gave me a hell of a time for being under a rock all week.

Well done to Sri-Lanka they never say die and bat out every innings with aggression....
