WOW!!!The card on the whole was ok,but the main event was something else.I have to give a huge amount of credit to B.hendo, because he's improving everytime he's in the octagon.Honestly,i thought he wouldn't have enough to beat frankie, but he used his kicks well and his striking was deadly, especially that upkick that busted open frankies nose. But frankie has no quit in him and he fought a good fight,i just felt he needed to get inside more, and land more shots,as the shots he was landing, were doing relatively little damage. In the end i thought it was a close fight.

There's also talk of frankie at featherweight and he doesnt belong at lightweight and B.hendo's size was too much for frankie. In my opinion i think lightweight is perfect for him.He has fought guys bigger than him in the past(gray maynard) and he's beaten them. His record speaks for itself, and we've seen this guy come back from losses and times where he's down and out,and i have no doubts he will do it again.
The edgar vs maynard trilogy ended at ufc 136,but ufc 144 could be the beginning of another epic trilogy, and i can see edgar and henderson having some incredible fights in the future.

Thoughts on the event?

I just saw it last night (I was on here at the same time mind) but it looked to me like Frankie won it. I'm gonna have to watch that fight again

Interesting to hear some thought Edgar won. To be honest I thought it was a comfortable win for Henderson - landed the more damaging shots, had the best submission attempts, controlled the ring and was the overall aggressor. Edgar threw more but his shots carried little threat. The only thing I thought he 'won' on was takedowns. Catching kicks counts for nothing when theyve already hit you.

Was a great card overall I thought, enjoyed all the fights.

Yep, agree philspur, it was a close fight with every round being very competative but in a fight like that I think that damage has to be the deciding factor.

When you consider that Henderson may have weighed as much as 175-180lbs by the start of the fight compared to Edgar 155-160lbs Frankie is due a lot of credit.

He really needs to drop down to 145 as at the moment he's giving away too much of a size advantage to pretty much everyone in that division.
