Morgan out, Bopara in, Treadwell and Patel in and Bresnan back.
I would rather have another batsman rather than Ravi (Hayles maybe), and I think one of the younger spinners should have been picked over Treadwell. Patel for me is not a test player.
I look forward to being proved wrong.
Good to have Tim back though.

Treadwell

Good to see Patel get in and I think he might even get in ahead of Bopara. He is the ideal number 6 being an attacking batsman who can bowl too.
Tredwell? Why?

You obviously have forgotten how well Treadwell bowled in Bangladesh on dead wickets in humid conditions.

But Hope Tredwell is clearly not going to play in the test so why not just allow a youngster like Briggs or the Durham leggy benchwarm? Both were in the limited over squads for India and Pak respectively and it may have been a good experience for them?

This an important series and Treadwell an experienced campaigner. Briggs is still work in progress. Treadwell can also bat a bit.

I tend to agree with kash on that point. Better to have a youngster carrying the drinks and be in and around the squad.

Panesar and Patel both left arm, Briggs left arm. How many do you want.

Doesn't matter who we pick, they will all do better than Morgan

Tredwell is in purely to cover Swann, isn't it obvious?
