Newzealand Vs South Africa :1st Test

South Africa:191/7
Newzealand won the first day of the first test match after getting 7 wickets of the visitors after chosing to field first.
Graeme Smith and Amla got half-centuries but couldnt convert into a big score.Rudolph is still there playing a very patience knock.
Martin did the damage for Newzealand taking 3 top order south african wickets.
Newzealand seems to be playing some good cricket these days.
Some hard work awaits South Africa.

NZ lead of 35, now SA 47-2. Great start by NZ bowlers.

Yes it was hopey but with an added 50+ runs it has now swung well and truly back to Sth.Africa considering the Kiwi's are batting last this lead of 54 runs for the loss of 2 looks good with Smith the brick looking solid as ever.

End of Day 3
SA 238 and 268/3
NZ 273
SA are 233 runs ahead looking hot favourites now.

Regarding the other talking point:

2005 Ashes - England 2-1
2006-7 Ashes Aussies 5-0
2009 England 2-1
2010-11 England 3-1

So, to be fair, this is the first time since possibly 1985 that England have thrashed Australia. :et's be fair they've thrashed us plenty of times in between. gotta admit we do look like chest beaters on this thread.

But have to agree Aussies do whine more than most.

Regardless of where each team has been ranked means Jack when it comes to the ashes...

Eng Vs Aus is the pinnacle of my love of sport, of course winning matters but it's the feeling of competing against Eng that raises the hair on the back of your neck.....

Sth.Africa have a lead of 310 for 4 wickets down.....only rain can save the Kiwi's from defeat from this position..

Sth.Africa could declare now if they wished with a lead of 325 for 5 wickets but will more then likely leave it until an hour before close in the hope of getting a wicket or two....unfortunately what looked like a close test has turned into nothing more then a practice session in the nets for the near future No.1 ranked test team.....

By the time you lads open your eyes in the morning you will find the Sth.Africans have already applied the lard to your slippery-dip and will be forced to put your hands in your pockets and give your chest a rest.....

Nzl are a fighting unit and they will not surrender that easily.I think they will make Smith regret that he let Nzl field atleast an hour longer.

Has the choking started earlier than usual? Excellent batting by these 2 New Zealanders and we are getting yet another thrilling fifth day to look forward to
