Chris Smalling misses out for United. Smalling re-opened a head wound originally sustained on England duty during Thursday night's Europa League defeat to Athletic Bilbao and a pre-match assessment has ruled him out of action this afternoon.

Midfielder Tom Cleverley is on the bench after recovering from an ankle injury, where he is joined by Paul Pogba despite reports that the youngster will be on his way to Juventus at the end of the season.

I was saying that as city fans/ manager were bigging themselves up being top but they were 2 points ahead since the chelsea man utd game.

2 points can be swiped in one game as today proved. If they were 4 points clear then it would be worrying as we have to rely on other results.

Indeed. Could be pivotal.

Rather win the league than anything else. By anything I mean the pointless Europa.

city seem to either win or lose 1-0 away from home last few games.
