I think Les Chappel had just left Reading when he scored this goal and would probably have been the 1975-76 season. My only visit was the following year and we were well beaten 3-0, which we usually were at Elm Park.

However, we did win there 4-1 with an Alan Brown hat-trick (Chris's dad) in 1984.

The thing I remember about the game was being stood on the open terrace behind the goal and Mr Habbin failing to score in the early stages when he should've netted a hat-trick. We were made to pay, as we were never in the game after that. I think Habbin was signed to replace Kitchen and there was no comparison!

i was in main stands free tickets from Alan "Ruby" Murray that day.Why Alan Murray cant say. Cant remember what I had for Lunch today but I can remember that.

So have I Micky, I just can't understand why no matter how well we play they only show a goal if we score and the opposition always on the attack. It didn't sound that one sided on Tuesday.
