Like i said in an earlier posting , the rfl involvment with odsal stinks.
The club have seen fit to keep the financial situation behind closed doors, Bradfords had problems for years, but still went out and offered junior players from other ares crazy money, and offered over the top contracts to seasoned players.
Good luck to them.

I personally hope the Bulls sort something out. Rivalries apart, SL needs a strong Bulls - the comp would be a lesser place without them.

Is it a more worrying sign of the times within the game though? Could there be more clubs in similar trouble, but we're still waiting to hear the news?

Worrying times i reckon.

It's terrible news when I hear of clubs going bust, we are having similar problems in the NRL with the Titans (Gold Coast)

In the years gone by when clubs were run by chook raffles and ex-players became the boss it was fine.
With todays running costs up in the millions per year it is to much for clubs to be run by ex-players etc. even at board level you find mostly ex-players and they are simply not qualified to run the show....

Each club needs to be run by highly qualified successful local businessmen/women in order to make tough decisions when it's required, instead of popular decisions of buying players they can't afford to sustain.

Souths - totallly agree RL is a business these days, the Bulls board consists (or did) of an accountant, a solicitor etc.... these were the guy smaking the errors...

The solicitor and an ex copper started the ball rolling many many years ago, which ended up with the Bulls giving over £2mill to a rival club - the club has never recovered
now we have to face the loss of an overdraft facility (reputed to be £0.5mill) and a large tax bill for player image rights/payments offshore

Can you have a word with Mr Crowe and see if he wants an official UK feeder club? We can send another Burgess if it will sweeten the deal!!!

Ha! Ha! Ha!...The next Burgess we need is Mrs..B...to keep these boy's in-tac and cook for them.

Rumour has it the local shop owner has retired a rich man...

Well they only have themselves to blame as they practical gave away there season tickets this year and has obliviously backfired. They also keep on paying high wages to foreign players instead of giving local players the chance!!

First bits right!!

The second is a little off the mark though - Crookes, Addy, Pryce, Bateman, Burgess, Whitehead, Sykes, O'Brien, Donaldson etc... have all come through our youth system!

No. The second part is spot on. If the club are in the financial mire then you have to spend accordingly. If that means ALL your squad are through the ranks and you struggle, then thats the way it has to be.

It's called cutting your cloth.

I've voiced my support for the Bulls above, and hope something gets sorted. But like any other business, which it is, it needs to compete on affordable levels.

Virtually free season tickets is madness - unless you can afford to bank roll it.

Dont give them any money. If you reach your target it will keep the same BODs in place, if you dont it will go to the administrators.
Keep ya money in ya pockets and back a new owner.
