guys whatever u say. the best bastman i have seen grace the cricket field is trott. the guy averaged 70 after 10 matches, and if equate that to 180+ matches he would have averaged 72+ only behind bradman.
Where is trott in the list? and maybe cook as well. and maybe matt prior, the best wicket keeper batman in this generation. even kp makes to my list. if he can play for england, i guess he could also play for asian teams.
Viru i will try and remove that comment if I was you.
no man. i think whether we are choosing an asian team or a world team..... kp, trott cook and prior shud be on the list. sto discriminating just cause they are not asian dont mean they cant be in the asians grtest 11 team
I believe you forgot Samit Patel

We are definitely missing a leg spinner in the team. I think Dilip Doshi could be a good option (the great leg spinner of his time)
i will just create a european 11.

well u can say that neon. i was actually going to call this the greatest world 11 to have ever graced a cricket ground
Good article (except for missing tendulkar out).
I have complained about ASAP Rocky's comments. that sort of input needs to be avoided, if the cricket board is ever going to take off.
Thanks all for your input on my article.
Viru, you have a point, a team like this does not need a 6th bowling option, but you just never know when you'll need a Shakib. I respect your European XI, but I would prefer to have Kevin O Brien and Ryan Ten Doeshcate (Have you seen his average).
GG, I must stick with Sanga, he's kep before in tests and he's one of the greatest Asian batsman ever.
Kash, thanks for reminding me about Nayan Mongia, he was a great keeper and useful batsman.
CL, we all love Ashish, but Kapil gets in because of his batting prowess, those 4 sixes in successive balls against Eddie Hemmings still give me nightmares.
JPB, it's not my fault I left Tendu out, Shakib is to blame, he keeps impressing me as a batsman that provides a bowling option. BTW, I've got no probs with ASAP/IHS/Porky, he adds some comedy to the board. I understand his comments being deleted, but I just love his blunt comments about anything he disagrees with.
just true, i havent really put up 11 players. i couldnt think of any but thanks for ur contribution
Agree with most part but would prefer Fazal Mahmood instead of Waqar Younis in the playing eleven.Waqar's first phase,i.e 90-94 was utterly devastating-wrecked havoc but in the second phase when his pace declined he became more of a support bowler to Shoaib and Akram.
My personal Asia eleven
1) Gavaskar
2) Hanif Muhammad
3) Rahul Dravid
4) Tendulkar
5) Miandad
6) Sangakkarra
7) Imran Khan
8) Wasim Akram
9) Anil Kumble or Abdul Qadir( Statisticians would pick former but the latter is more talented)
10) Fazal Mahmood
11) Muralitharan
Pakistan all time eleven
1) Hanif
2) Saeed Anwar
3) Majid Khan
4) Miandad
5) Mohammad Yusuf
6) Inzamam -ul-Haq
7) Wasim Bari
8) Imran khan
9) Wasim Akram
10) Fazal Mahmood
11) Abdul Qadir or Ajmal ( if ajmal continues with the present form for the next 5 yrs)
JPB,
Did you have to tell us you complained about rockys posts- there's a few on here with a paranoia that everytime a comment is deleted its Afridi14 that's complained to the mods
Never mind, hopefully now they'll find alternative hobbies
All time India eleven
1) Gavaskar
2) Sehwag
3) Dravid
4) Tendulkar
5) Vijay Hazare or Vijay Merchant
6) Kapil dev
7) Engineer
8) Bedi

No place for the likes of Pataudi,Amarnath and Laxman in my all time India eleven.Goes on to show how many world class batsmen have been from India. The bowling though have great names but might not be that lethal overseas.

But who will u replace?Batsman of greater ability than him like Azhar,Laxman and Vishwanath are not in the list.Had I picked someone mostly on the base of leadership qualities than Patuadi would get the nod.
PR, I think you've come up with a fantastic point about Fazal Mahmood who I've heard was a fantastic bowler in the 50s and 60s and was a true pioneer for Pakistan's rich tradition of bowling.
However, after Waqar's devastating first few years, he developed into a very clever bowler, when he came to England in 2001 as Captain, he put in some very impressive performances, developed a quality outswinger and a decptive slower ball.
Shoaib Akhtar on his day was THE most devastating asian bowler, but injuries and fitness let him down badly. I lobed watching him bowl in full flow.
Also, not to forget Javagal Srinath or Chaminda Vaas. Both worked tirelessly for their country with very little support. Never get the credit they truly deserve, but they're just slightly short of being in this team.
