Waqar at his peak much> Shoaib at his peak.Tell me a test series which Akhter won for Pakistan where as Waqar won for Pakistan in 92, 96 against England,90 against Nzl and inspite of the fact Pakistan lost to windies in 93 0-2 he wrecked havoc in that series(windies were no1 in 93).
PR, For the Indian XI, Dilip Vengsarkar was a very good player and Mohinder Amanath was very brave against a fearsome WI bowling line-up. I would choose Amarnath ahead of the great Hazare. Azharuddin was also a class batsman before his off-field problems.
Also, would have MS Dhoni ahrad of Engineer, MS Dhoni has shown so much character in the past few years.
Srinath ahead of Kumble as well. Kumble looked like a fish out of water outside India.
Akhtar destroyed England in 2005, took 17 wickets on the flattest tracks you'll ever see. Anyway, he wouldn't get into this team. I saw Waqar play live for Surrey in 1991 and he was lethal, batsman were just scared of him, pure and simple.
Sri Lankan XI
Jayasuriya
Attapattu
Sangakarra
Jaywardena
De Silva
Duleep Mendis
Ranatunga
Rumesh Ratnayke
Vaas
Murali
Ajantha Mendis
de silva....now he was a player
De Silva (along with possibly Murali) was my favourite SL player of all -time, watching him dominate in the 1996 World Cup, was just a treat.
i remember him hitting a reverse pull for 6 in a county game.
De Silva was unlucky he played in the 90s where there were so many good bowling attacks around. If he had played today, I believe his average would be over 50, he was sublime.

What are you talking about, it's got a lot of BOOM BOOM
captain that is why, on its day a team with sehwag or only afridi cd be destructive at best and can potentially score 500, and more times than not they will find themselves 40-7 or 60-10
find themselves 40-7 or 60-10
Team Sehwag yes, Team Afridi no.
Afridi is the best all rounder in the world.

I like this all Afridi team cos lets not forget he has a 1 in 10 ratio where he scores runs so atleast one of them will be entertaining.
