Barca make the pitch look bigger than it is because of their quick passing and the Dani Alves factor.
Also, the camera angle also helps create this illusion. I've been to the Nou Camp for a tour when I went on holiday and it looks the same size as a normal pitch.
It's all down to closing down. and it's near impossible to successfully close down Barca.
The Emirates pitch looks absolutely huge on TV.
In the ground it still looks big, but not to same extent.
Barca are the same as Arsenal, their style of play is soo much better on a nice smooth pitch and the pitches at the Nou Camp and Emirates are immaculate (like carpet) so that passing is much easier.
Having an immaculate pitch is cheating.
But it is bigger though! Just.....
Having an immaculate pitch is cheating.

Exactly! Football should be played on a mixture of mud and sand.
The sand is for South American types.
That extra width of a metre can work to advantage for a team like Barca as they've shown.
This season they've been invincible at home.
It probably should have lake in it as well, for the water based creatures who may turn their hand to football...
I want the highbury pitch back

but the difference of their home away form is there to see.
Same number of players, with more metres spare is enough for barca to take advantage.
But this was brought last year with Arsenal, but the playing sizes at the Emirates and the Camp Nou are the same size
exactly what i was thinking! I have heard this so muchtoday I thought i'd investigate, and like you what I've found is that Barca have an average sized pitch. It's like you always hear how today's balls are balloon light compared to those used in the past. It has been the same weight by the laws of the game since 1937, before which they were lighter
