Maybe cos liverpools defence have been bad for a while.

Luiz came into a chelsea team who very rarely conceded goals with a history of JT, gallas, carvahlo, Alex, ashley cole, ivanovic etc.

Luiz come and stuck out like a sore thumb with some of his mistakes.

hmmm he was a definite step, we have always had decent defenders in the PL era even if we was naive in the 90s.

Desailly, Lebeouf, le saux, petrescu(possibly the best technical full black the PL has had), melchiot, gallas and then later on ricky, cole, JT etc even our purchases have been great compared to our attacking buys. azpi, gallas, ivanovic, cole, carvahlo.

Alex and now even alonso has been a shrewd buying although im a bit fed up of him atm.
