Can't believe how bad Argentina were after Willy fecked up.

Could barely even string a pass in Croatia's half without it being intercepted. Sampaoli is absolutely clueless.

Croatia v impressive, but that gets said most tournaments until a last 16 elimination.

Fine when Superb mocks him at every turn but god forbid someone actually back him

Mock him at every turn ? Don't think so. I' criticised him last season because despite a good start he simply wasn't good enough and like Biggish my problem with him is the lack of mental toughness and aggression etc. The constant falling over epitomises that.

He's a talented player but I'm absolutely sticking to my guns when I say that he's not cut out for the PL and he'll continue to disappoint next season. He needs to go back to Spain or Italy where he's suited.

Maurizio Sarri will get to work with Daniele Rugani again, as it’s reported Chelsea are close to agreeing a €35m deal with Juventus.

There were already suggestions in Calcionews24.comthat the Stamford Bridge side were prepared to push forward with negotiations.

Now Sportitalia claim a deal is practically done for €32m plus €3m bonuses for the defender.

Sportitalia suggest there could even be a double presentation for Chelsea, announcing both Sarri and Rugani together.

Seems a good price for a highly rated defender.

I've certainly criticised him this season because despite a good start he hasn't been anywhere near good enough and deserves the criticism. Only 9 goals in 42 appearances since September 23rd is testament to that.

It's certainly nothing personal though, he seems a likable enough person and he's definitely talented. He just isn't cut out for the physical nature of the PL in my opinion and if we can sell him to Dortmund or Juve for about what we paid for him then we should be biting their hands off.

Yeah you’ve done a full 180 on him, used to argue with people that were mocking him/writing him off now you rip the back out of him all the time

Exactly when was that then ? So you're saying that I was defending Morata when people were writing to him off ?

You'll have to dig out some of my comments then as you clearly have a better memory of things I've said about him in the past than I do. Which in itself is slightly weird.

I'm fairly sure I would have praised him at the start of the season when he was doing well and hoping that he would be a success for us and then criticised him when when he wasn't good this season in more recent months.

Morata is crap

Superb it wouldn’t take long to find some comments but that would just make you look a bit foolish and I don’t see the point in that. I respect your views and agree with you on a lot of things, I just think you’re a bit OTT on Morata. Your criticism of Baka is fair enough although again I’m gonna give him another season.

Lots of positives to build on and evolve concerning Morata...like the partnership that was quickly established/struck with Azpi.
Looked very capable linking play with Hazard and co. pre-injury.

Scored the most headed goals, which shows some extent of aerial prowess at least.
Match-winning goals.
Scored hat-trick in only his 6th league game, when was the last time a striker bagged hat-trick as early as that for us in debut season?
Infancy of career as a full-time starter.

Lost his way playing with back injury.

I don't see any with Bakayoko

There is also of course the previous of being the last player to eliminate that Madrid side in CL (2015).

Contributed to crucial/deciding CL knockout goals & assists against the likes of Monaco, Dortmund, Bayern and former club Madrid, when he started matches.
CL final equaliser to boot (which Juventus lost in the end). To show European pedigree.

How's that for "mental toughness"?

I think there's nothing more to discuss on him.

Some of us are still hopeful that he'll sort out some of those issues next season, while others have given up on him. Everyone agrees that he has talent.

Now it's about simply watching how things unfold to determine who's right. All the discussion about predicting what will happen has already taken place.
