The reason i wouldn't mind this sacking is because for once the players haven't just given up, downed tools and become rats.

It's just clear they have absolutely no fackin clue what they're meant to be doing, a bit like Sarri

It's like tackling. As defender, you should only have to do it if its an emergency.

A great game shouldn't require you to sprint or tackle once, it should just be pressing and positioning and astute awareness of who is around you.

Well luiz is none of those things then. Guy was a mess again tonight. Since the City game(2-0) he’s been a disaster. I’ve defended him time and again but given up now

I'm not saying changes aren't needed but it's a complete lie that we're currently playing as well as should be at the moment. I bet you the second Sarri gets sacked we'll suddenly see an uptick in form. New manager bounce or not, it'll show that the players are clearly capable of better performances.

Sorry, just saw this on the way out, if he cared about defensive lapses he wouldn't play Christensen. And if you think this is a tinkering situation and not a wholesale sale of players I can only disagree and leave it at that.

Kovacic isn't a bad player. Kante isn't a bad player. Christensen was remarkably consistent last year until he made a couple of mistakes and struggled for form. Azpilicueta is a great defensive RB (at least usually) but struggles to be the attacking one that Sarri's system requires. Hazard is WC while Pedro, Willian and CHO are all more than serviceable. Higuain is a bit long in the tooth but still a good striker. There's no reason at all why we should only be getting two shots on target at home with the players we have. I'm not saying we should be smashing teams left and right but we definitely should be playing a lot better than we have been at the moment. Are you honestly going to tell me us getting spanked 4-0 by Bournemouth is the level of this squad????

Sarri acting like he's not bothered by pressure. Chuckles when it's put to him fans were singing "feck Sarriball!" - "there's a first for everything" - says he was worried in League 2 in Italy, not now. And relaxed demeanour reflects that. Basically: we keep on with the process

I thought he was excellent at first, and but he has not kicked on. The issue though is midfield balance. If Kovacic was playing with a really good attacking midfielder it would be different. Our midfield it just the wrong mix.

Anyway most of you on here will likely get your wish, I cant see Sarri surviving beyond this week now. Might be allowed to manage the cup final as a send off.

Christensen was crap aside from the opening six weeks of playing when we were playing well as a team in the first place.

More importantly, you are compromising the idea of being a possession based team which is clearly what the owner wants. I think you are making an error to turn Sarri into the problem here, any manager would struggle with the remit he has been given.

Perhaps Sarri's style of possession football requires a Jorginho in the holding role but that doesn't mean all types of possession football require it. I think in our desire to blame the board, many fans haven't really appreciated how damn inflexible Sarri has been this season. Even Pep in his first season switched things around. The possession-based ethos still remained but he made plenty of tactical tweaks in order to find the right system. Of course he bought a tonne in the following summer but he had shown a clear desire to change things when they weren't working. With Sarri I have never gotten that impression at all. We can criticise the board for bringing him in knowing what type of manager he is and what he needs to succeed but the reality is that he's massively struggling at the moment and lacks the adaptability to improve things even slightly. That's a big red flag for me.

My thoughts exactly. He's a good enough player but he's playing in the wrong position. Not a final third player in the slightest.

We already have those on our books Biggish. CHO Ampadu, Sterling, James and Abraham, supplemented by around 3 good quality signings not forgetting Pulisic is already in the bag.


That said it's dependent on keeping Hazard and Kante!

I'd say the players we need to bring in are a top striker, and two center midfielders. Ideally I'd like to see our center midfield comprise of Kante, Jorg, RLC + two new signings.
