Chelsea are considering ending Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain's loan deal at the end of the season, meaning the 31-year-old would return to Juventus. (Marca)

This is what happens when you willingly take the 9 shirt. We need to permanently retire that shirt number.

It should only be given to strikers that prove themselves with a different number first

This is what happens when you sign/loan players well past their sell by date. But yes the number 9 shirt seems to be a problem!!

That as well obviously , but sticking the kant in the 9 shirt killed off any chance it would work out.

Hahahaa, the fact that he's been here for 2 months now and Sarri keeps saying he's not fully fit or lacks sharpness just doesn't bode well.

Milan really got the better deal in getting Piatek, who's younger and banging them in.

Well I'm delighted we brought in a not fully fit/not sharp Higuain for four months then before sending him back. Might as well have brought back Pato or Falcao.

He's managed goals vs two of the worst teams in the league. Been wasteful in other games and unlucky on a few occasions.

The next two games I expect him to score though - Cardiff and Brighton but I suspect Giroud could start one of them.

It's not the shirt number - just the quality of player we sign.

I doubt the number 9 shirt would have been much of a monkey on Aguero's back!

Confirmed: Birmingham will be hit with a 9 point deduction for breaching the EFL’s new spending rules, subject to appeal.

Oh dear

Sadly we're probably destined to make more signings like this. Doesn't appear that the club hierachy ever learn much does it.

As for next season just bring back Tammy and give him the starting striker role if the ban is upheld. He can't do any worse than Morata and so far Higuain before him.

If we have a transfer ban:

STs: Batshuayi, Abraham
WGs: Hudson Odoi, Pulisic, Pedro, Willian
MFs: Loftus Cheek, Kante, Jorginho, Barkley, Mount, van Ginkel, Gilmour
FBs: Emerson, Alonso, James, Azpilicueta
CBs: Rudiger, Christensen, Luiz, Zouma
GKs: Kepa, Caballero, Green.

I’d loan out Tomori and Ampadu.

Looking at that squad, if we could buy players we need a striker, a goalscoring midfielder, a left back, and possibly another winger.

Could possiblt do with a CB to partner Rudiger. Luiz makes too many mistakes. Not overly convinced with Christensen. Dread to think what Zouma will be like playing out from the back.

For the first time in 10 years, Madrid will not simply enter the transfer market to find a quality player, or someone with a lot of potential for the future. Now what Florentino Perez urgently needs is a franchise player, someone who can be the face of the side, and with Lionel Messiclearly an unattainable target, that leaves two names: Neymar or Mbappe.

And hopefully leave Eden alone!

Eden is the one that wants the move to Madrid.
I'm not fussed whether he stays or leaves anymore.

On the flip side
I think Eden will relish staying here and becoming a legend

I firmly believe that this transfer ban is a blessing in disguise and with CHO coming through who looks every inch the best English player not just Chelsea to come through in a generation I'm confident

I can't understand why we didn't bring Abraham back in January rather than bring in Higuain.

It always seemed a risk to me, bringing in a 31 year old, who's having a lean time anyway, into the PL and expect him to hit the ground running in a six month loan period- whilst paying him 270k a week.

It made far more sense to me to recall Tammy, who may well be considered a risk as well but on at least 220k less per week.

More importantly than that it would have been an ideal opportunity to evaluate him and see if he has the potential to be a viable option for us on a regular basis!

If RM are more concerned with Neymar and M'bappe it doesn't matter what he wants!
