I miss when the main non football convo was TCW's love life. More interesting to follow than GoT.

I find spoiler warnings and spoiler culture kind of silly. If you are revealing hacked or leaked details before something is out that is one thing....but the idea you have to walk on eggshells about an episode of TV readily in the public domain is ludicrous tbh.

Also, when did this whole culture of being triggered by spoilers come in? I knew the endings to the Wire and Breaking Bad before I watched them. It didn't affect my enjoyment one iota.

Shows aren't about what they reveal, it is how they reveal it.

Sorry but no no and no

And its nothing to do with walking on egg shells, its just showing common decency. People arent attached to their TVs 24/7 so dont need to watch something the moment it comes out. At the same time people enjoy the reveal and since in most places that discuss these type of things have a special place to not ruin it for other people you can just have a little courtesy and do it there....no?

NPE I think there should be a time limit with spoilers.

For example, GoT aired in the US at an unreasonable time for most people with jobs to watch in the U.K (correct me if I'm wrong). So for many, the first chance to watch it is tonight. So should avoid revealing anything major until tomorrow, when there's a fair chance for anyone who's interested to have watched.

If it's an old show, knowing the ending isn't really a problem. But for something that's just come out, people shouldn't be rushing to reveal everything without a warning.

I'm glad there were no Endgame spoilers on here in the opening week. By now, enough time has passed for anyone to have watched it.

Surprises in film/TV can have a pretty big impact on the viewing experience. Shouldn't be trying to ruin that for others.

Sorry but I don't feel obliged to hide stuff to protect people's preciousness about plot points. If that dictates your enjoyment of a show you arent watching it properly.

Also stay offline if that's much of an issue. It's not incumbent on me to accommodate people's spoilerphobia.

Fair enough dude - you feel a need to be a that is your prerogative especially since it can be easily avoided.....

Spoilers about episodes that haven’t been on TV here yet should be off limits IMO.

That's ridiculous. It definitely affects the first time viewing experience for the majority of people.

I can think of a few occasions off the top of my head where shock factor played a huge role in my enjoyment of something.

Maybe it doesn't affect you NPE, but the majority of your comment history on here suggests suggests you're not like most people.
I don't mean that maliciously; it's something you've already said yourself, more or less. And really everyone is different; that's my point.

Come on NPE this is a little silly...

People are allowed to enjoy TV shows however they like. There is no correct way to enjoy something ...

Reddit is so salty about it!

Yeah I guess in a way you can be - I was more thinking about how people might watch something for the cinematography or its sound. Rather than the fandoms themselves...

Most fandoms can be embarrassing, I remember Rick and Morty fans being some of the lamest. Hell, football fans for the most part are embarrassing

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily fromNarodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
