Obers yes. And so in the context of Brexit if it is a credible threat for us to say "we won't do a deal with you unless you give us what we want", why isn't it also a credible threat for the EU to say exactly the same?
Brummie the EU have bigger concerns than the UK's contribution to its budget. Hungary also aren't laughing - they have really really big (and very fair) gripes with the EU.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Always thought it reflected a lack of insight when people assumed the EU would bend over backwards to accommodate you
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If we were miles apart from the EU in terms of the negotiations then it wouldn't matter if the EU ended the negotiation (that could actually be an advantage). I never expected the EU to bend over for us, in all honesty they should have been bending over for us before the Referendum to ensure we stay given the hundreds of millions we send them each week

I never said the EU do Gazza, I said the Germans, French and Italians. The majority of EU countries are the smaller nations that won't be making up the shortfall.
Many German opposition politicians see it that way and are very critical of Merkel!

Genuine question
Would a second Brexit referendum be worth considering, in the event of not being able to reach an agreement under the current regime? Maybe include the option of voting for no deal or some other specific proposal for leave.
Or has the damage already been done?
I know you can talk about undermining democracy etc, but it's clear this is a unique case with exceptional circumstances. If a lot of people who voted leave now regret that decision in light of the mess that's followed, would if really be so bad?

I take it you're not watching the EU election results CSTP!

Obers but that doesn't answer my question. Why is no deal a credible threat for us but not a credible threat for the EU?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There's a credible threat for all concerned unless common sense prevails.
'L'Équipe: Ndombele's departure from Lyon "certain" and Nabil Fékir's & Ferland Mendy's "probable".'
Fekir will be gone, Lyon can't afford to allow him to run down his contract.

If Frank does come back I hope Jody comes with him.
Get the feeling he might be offered the top job at Derby though.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because we want Brexit and they don't. In a no-deal Brexit based on that we get closer to what we want than they do.
I obviously use the term 'we' loosely

Macron speaks for France about as much as May speaks for the UK at this point Gazza.
Frank and Jody Morris are one package.
They'll leave as a package, latter won't pass up the opportunity to work with the likes of Ampadu, Mount, Hudson-Odoi, Reece James at first-team team level I suspect.

Brummie the small countries in the EU will effectively make up the shortfall as the EU's budget will likely be reduced so their receive less from the EU (or have to pay more to receive the same amount in return).
The problems facing Italy, France and Germany with the EU are not the UK's contribution to the EU budget. The eurozone is a much bigger concern and driver of France, Germany and Italy right now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll have to agree to disagree on that Gazza, German opposition parties seem to think it's going to fall on them.
I don't see the likes of Estonia, Malta and Luxembourg filling the shortfall.

At the moment the combined green party and liberal psrty share of vote matches Brexit Party. Just shows the country is still split down the middle.

Obers France now want Brexit. Macron wants us out.
And why even seek a deal then? Any deal is surely less Brexit than no deal so no deal must inherently be best as it is the most Brexit?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No there can be a deal that is equal Brexit to no-deal. Just need to be out of all EU institutions
