Yeah I'm not convinced we are after him
Ralf ragnick in Germany we have been linked with
Which makes sense. He's a big figure in football in Germany and proven track record with youth and did some good work at leipzig

He's more likely in my opinion now allegri has counted himself out

For his own sake Lampard should stay at Derby. Get more experience and all that. Not like the Chelsea job won’t be available again. I mean we’ll have another 10 managers in the next 15 years and I’m sure he’ll be one of them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why? If Derby have a poor start he gets sacked all off a sudden he's damaged goods, plus Roman doesn't strike me as someone who's takes hearing "sorry not now" well.

He'd be crazy to turn us down to stay at Derby with respect to them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or he does better this time and gets them promoted and then comes here. Gains more experience and comes to Chelsea when we are in better shape.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But there's absolutely no guarentee it would work like that, if you get an opportunity like this as a Chelsea man you have to take it.

Not only could he damage his reputation if Derby do crap (which with no money and losing Mount/Wilson is looking more likely than success), eventually we are bound to find a long/medium term manager (even the most trigger happy chairman in English football history Daniel Levy found one in the end) and if that time is next time after he turns down the job he's going to kick himself that the door to his dream job is closed for the foreseeable.

There's no perfect time to appoint him but at a time where the remits going to be build something and get the cream of our fantastic academy in the side, this is as good a time as any.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If it doesn’t work out for him at Derby next season then maybe he’s not ready for the Chelsea job. Shouldn’t just hand him the job because he’s a Chelsea legend. I’d really like to see how he does at Derby next season.

Yeah fair point about PL clubs, happy for them to go abroad as well as long as they are assured of game time.

RLC had a decent loan spell at CP, just ruined by injuries if course.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ah yes, I forget RLC. But nevertheless, there are way more examples of it not working in the PL with us. I think Ampadu going to a club like Borussia Monchengladbach, Hoffenheim or Werder Bremen makes more sense.

Tomori also needs to make the step up, no more loans to the Championship.

+ Ake to Bournemouth
+ Lukaku to WB + Everton

Bullet dodged.
To think we would have signed him if 🚬 remained in charge.
